Dr. Harry Rutland, MD

As a previous patient of Dr. Rutland, I cannot recommend him a doctor to my friends. I was referred to his office with a PSA value of 2.7. My history also includes cancer and radiation treatment in the pelvic area. Despite that history, I was informed that my PSA was nothing to be concerned with. Perhaps. A year later, my PSA increased to 5.7 with a repeated referral to Dr. Rutland. Once again, Dr. Rutland didn't find it remarkable until I insisted on having a biopsy that later confirmed prostate cancer. Understanding that prostate cancer is sadly very common and more so for Black men, I cannot understand why my case didn't receive more urgency *without* my insistence. I've learned a lot over the past year. As such, I have not and would not return to Dr. Rutland for urology services.

Saw Dr Rutland for about 5 years. Good at explaining issues and prescribing medication for BPH. However, he attempted a cystoscopy on me and could not get into my bladder. I then unfortunately let him perform a urolift which did not improve my condition at all. I have since seen another Dr who did a cystoscopy without any issues and also another urolift with much better results. I cannot recommend Dr Rutland to perform either of these two procedures.

It had been 5 years since I saw Dr. Rutland and this visit was as great as the first one. He is very through, listens to everything you have to say and leaves nothing to chance. He brings a sense of calmness into the room and it's more like having a conversation with a friend than with your doctor. I wouldn't even consider seen another doctor.

I was a patient. However, I had to move on to another Urologist. I was apatient for well over a year and very pleased with Dr. Rutland. However, one day I had a scare and went to his office for help. The Dr. was at another office, I told the receptionist that I would go to wherever he was that day and wait as long as necessary. She called him and he instructed her to tell me to "go to the ER". I went to another Dr. that same day who cared enough to see me and the issue was resolved.

One of the true professionals in his field. Dr. Rutland took immediate care of my kidney stones. Through his relationship with WellStar Hospital, he and his staff did what it took to provide me with the best healthcare above what one could expect.

Dr. Rutland was very kind, informative and though my reasoning for the visit was somewhat uncomfortable he definitely made it easier. He has a great personality also I can see he is a great Dr. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Rutland explained how he would diagnose, if I should be concerned about a test by my primary physician’s lab test. He determined by his testing that I was fine, but to be safe we need to recheck in six months.

Dr. Rutland took the time to clearly explain my condition and possible causes. I am very confident in Dr. Rutland's expertise and his recommended follow up.

My experience with my first appointment with Dr. Rutland was so highly positive that I decided to leave a review. The office staff was very kind and helpful. Both Dr. Rutland and his assistant were patient and listened and explained things to me. They did not rush me. Dr. Rutland answered all my questions and explained the condition I had, which I had been very nervous about before the appointment. I left there so relieved and impressed that I wished he was my primary care doctor.

Very pleased in how he has managed my elevated PSA, which peaked at 4.7 and now is undetectable..

Dr. Rutland took time to listen to my issue and provided a sound prognosis and an action plan. My appointment was a fill-in appointment because my urologist was away. I am very appreciative of Dr. Rutland seeing me on short notice.

If you are looking for the best urologist in town, look no further. His name is Dr. Harry Rutland. You will find a well educated, professional . He is among the most friendly doctors I have net. He may have a busy day, but I have never been shorted on time. He will even take a few minutes to laugh at my corny joke. You have to love a doctor who will laugh. I do not wont to get carried away because I suspect that he put his pants on the same way the rest of us do--one leg at a time.

There is not a better Doc around. He listens well, explains issues in plain English and then follows up. He has been my urologist for 6+ years and I couldn't be happier! He'll be my Doc till the day I croak!

I was originally a patient of Dr. Little and inherited Dr. Rutland when he retired. I'm glad I did. Dr. Rutland demonstrates that old physician feel; taking the time to discuss what is going on and why he is doing what he is doing. I feel comfortable with him.

This was my first visit to see Dr. Harry Rutland and I am delighted that I selected Dr. Rutland as my urology specialist. He was very attentive my medical problems being described and he gave me very clear responses to my questions. He had a warm personality and had a very good bedside manner as I generally describe a physicians demeanor. He took the time to explain my medical issues and carefully described the different options to treat my problem, but also gave me his best recommendation.

My first appointment with Dr Rutland before he joined Georgia Urology was a disaster. Although he was present in the office I was seen by a PA. My first two appointments since he has been affiliated Georgia Urology I found him to be quite willing to listen to my medical condition although he admitted that he had not read my medical history supplied by my previous Dr. My third I had to wait nearly one hour before he arrived, fourth visit has to occur as it has been delayed three times so far.
