Poor post op care
My husband had a valve replacement almost a year ago. Pre-op care was fine but post op care was completely non-existent. My husband did very poorly post op and we tried frequently to reach the doctor. A year later and he still has not seen Dr. Hussein at all. Thank goodness for the General Practitioner who recognized and treated his extremely low Iron levels, low blood pressure, and low red cell count. I wouldn’t send anyone I care about to this Dr.

Excellent at his job AND amazing person.
Hussein was assigned when my dad had a major heart attack. He did multiple stent placements over next 15 years for my dad (who wasn't expected to do so well prior to Hussein). Under his care my dad's heart improved, hospitalizations became less frequent. Hussein is extremely knowledgeable & wants to help. Office wait times take longer, because he is attentive. That's ok. Hussein became my Dr when he happened to see my family waiting outside of surgery for me to have my leg amputated due to arterial blood clot. Hussein stopped to check on my dad & when my dad explained what was going on, Hussein said he would check on me. Idk what happened but my dad says a short time later Hussein came out to tell them they had saved my leg. 10 years later I still have both my legs. Hussein is now my cardiologist and sees me to monitor mitral valve regurgitation. He cares about all PEOPLE, not just his patients. Its rare to find a Dr like Hussein. He's been a blessing.

Will NOT Recommend
First saw Dr. Hussain on January 17, 2023. H sent me for numerous tests to determine what was wrong. He then sent me for an MRI. I confirmed the results were sent to Dr. Hussain but his office said they did not have them. I had to go personally pick them up and deliver them. When I had my appointment to go over the results, he had not even looked at them. I called the office asking to speak with Dr. Hussain and was told for two weeks that he would call me right back. At this point, I had all my records transferred to my PCP and will go to a new doctor.

Very informative and great at communicating
Grandma has been a patient if his for about 2 years now and he has found a heart condition that was never found with previous Cardiologists she's had for over 20 years. He attended her for 3 procedures now at the hospital and has been very informative about the process of what's going on. He is also great at answering all of our questions. Hope to continue to work with him in the future.

After being hospitalized 3 days with cardiac electrical conduction/arrhythmia issues (preexisting intermittent LBBB evolved into Prolonged QT, Ventricular Brady/Tachycardia, Torsades de Pointes ) which resulted in Sudden Cardiac Arrest requiring CPR, twice in same day, Tracy Sutter moved me to Memorial Sutter for Cath Lab performed by Dr Hussain but had no significant Coronary Artery Disease/plaque build up. I only recall Dr H briefly saying that I needed an ICD (Implantable Cardioversion Defibrillator but I did not ever get to speak with Dr Hussain at all during the entire additional 7 days I was in Modesto Memorial awaiting implant surgery and did not ever have the opportunity to ask pre-surgery questions or get my diagnosis or why I needed the device nor what risks/benefits were of surgery or what the alternatives were as I had EXPECTED WOULD HAPPEN AT SOME POINT PRIOR TO SURGERY. I was in hospital for total of 10 days prior to surgery and was DUMPED at post-op bc of my insurance??

post op care after stent placement is very poor. Messages left with staff are either not answered or takes days to attain impt information. I'm presently losing respect & distrust continues to climb as now my post op appointment has been canceled & pushed 2 weeks further down the road.

I've been a patient for 4 years. Dr. Hussain knows what he's doing and very detailed in every step of the whole process. I have been to the Cathlab 2 times and he has placed 3 stents in me. I have earned another trip to the cathlab at the end of the month with Dr. Hussain. I have the upmost respect for him and I know that I'm in very good hands. New office over by the Marie Calendar's.
