Expired Serum
FUN UPDATE: My new allergist noted that the serum Fishman Allergy injected me with was EXPIRED. Read that sentence again. Yes, really.I do not lightly fire a doctor whom I have seen for the last 17 years, but that is precisely what I did today. I noticed about a year ago that there was a lot of staff turnover in the practice. In the past half-year, that has resulted in excessive waits to receive allergy shots. Today, I signed in for shots. There were no patients ahead of me waiting for shots. Nonetheless, while I could hear the injection technician chatting away with her work friends, I was not taken back for my shots for 35 minutes. This is disrespectful of my time and of me as a patient. And it has been virtually the same experience for months now. I left the practice with my allergy serum this morning and will now find a new allergist (there are plenty of them!) who can provide better and more consistent customer service.

His new stick is silencing patients
Check out his Google reviews. In one stance all the bad reviews are gone. Only a few 5 star reviews from today and yesterday left. The other location there is a slab of three years worth of reviews missing and the older ones from sic years ago stayed (probably because google refuses to delete the very first ones). Dr. Fishman literally censors patients with abhorrent experiences with him so their experiences don't get to see the day of light. Truth has a way of coming out either way.

Fishman isn’t what he used to be in 2000 and his staff is the worst - rude and have attitudes.

Worst experience ever
Their management staff and nurses are exceptionally rude and careless. I've heard them talking to adult patients and calling them 'Babe' and whatsoever. That's absolutely disrespectful. Staff is sitting behind the frontdesk and is, at best, watching TV via smartphone. Another day, a nurse was publicly asleep at the frontdesk. That's an absolutely inappropriate behavior. The doctor Fishman himself is careless too. Stay away from this office. They will maltreat you in every sense.

Injected serum I was not allowed to ask about
Fish injected me with shots and when I became suspicious about what he is injecting he did not answer my questions. I found out by accident it is the wrong stuff and not what I agreed to. I still am not allowed to know and have no access to no documentation of what is being injected into me for weeks and weeks.

Don’t Come Here - Terrible Staff
All the other comments here about the management staff are true: they are exceptionally rude, condescending, and have a penchant for being unwilling or slow to complete necessary patient paperwork. I’ve had a nurse call my breathing “pathetic” while taking an inhaler test for asthma, and another nurse irritably staring at me without communicating instructions for administering a shot. I used to see Dr. Canady while she was at the practice, who was fantastic, and I feel the same way about Dr. Fishman, but the consistent diminutive behavior of their staff push me to need to find another allergist office immediately.

Let me start by saying Dr Canady is absolutely wonderful. She has always been kind, consistent, and has my best interests at heart. Most of the staff is fine, but a couple of nurses gave me attitude on more then one occasion. Also Dr Fishman is a bit two faced. He is very kind during your consultation to get you to sign up, but I have found him to be very condescending and rude, unwilling to take the time to talk through my care, but write me a prescription when the allergy shots didn’t seem to be working and move through to the next patient. He also pushed rush immunotherapy rather than single shots which is much more expensive so check with your insurance first to see what they cover. Ask Fishman allergy for the charge codes for this service because this is a regular doctor visit per hour (so 2-3 hours x 80 I believe is what they bill for doctors visit) and with rush immunotherapy you go in multiple times. You could be billed $240 for each visit in the beginning and your Insursnce ma

He doesn't keep his word as to when he'll get back to you. I wanted an allergy test done for metals and it took at least a couple of weeks for him to get back to me, after I sent him several followup emails when I didn't hear back.

I cannot say enough about this kind and caring doctor. From KY, I was in DC keeping an infant grandson when I had a pain in my side from coughing. I went to the drs building hoping to walk in a GP office for x-ray and help but none would see me (even with excellent insurance). I walked in Dr Fishmans office, explained my situation, saw Dr Fishman and had an x-ray within 30 minutes. He listened, understood and prescribed meds which prevented pneumonia. Later visits were just as wonderful.

I had been seeing Dr. Canady for years and was on maintenance. When I went for a recent follow up stating that my symptoms had not improved, I was told that the office had forgotten a crucial serum that they had never included in my overall grouping of shots. So, I had to build up all over again with the new serum, which cost me more time and extra $. None of this was my fault, but the office for not including that original serum when they should have. Then, I was charged a small co-pay ($40) fo

The receptionist is incredibly rude and difficult. I have received shots for several years at the DC location and have stayed only because the location. The receptionist has always been rude when I request a receipt as required for my insurance, and she often locks the door well before the scheduled closing time. I personally have twice made the trip to the office, arriving during posted hours only to be locked out. Even if you knock and it's before closing time, they will not open the door.
