Worst doctor ever
I was a gestational carrier for my best friend and his husband. I opted for a csection to make things easier for planning purposes. I previously had a csection in another state. First of all, he did not cut out my previous scar. My best friend (baby father) is a surgical tech and said they usually cut out the old scar and make one scar for people who have had more than 1. Then when he came into the hospital room to check on me he asked if I was breast feeding. I had to repeatedly remind him that i was not the mother and that wouldn't be happening. 2 weeks later I went back in for my incision that wasn't healing. He used silver nitrate which hurt so bad. I had to go back a few days later and he did it again and I cried. He's like, 'it shouldn't hurt that bad'. Then he asked me once again if I was breast feeding. This man does not pay attention to his patients charts and should not still practicing.

Thorough and Caring
I have been a patient of Dr. Lerner's for decades. He has cared for me during routine visits, several miscarriages, 2 pregnancies, menopause and post-menopause. His skills as a doctor are above reproach. He listens during appointments, makes excellent medical decisions and is responsive to questions. His office staff is also always caring and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Lerner

Flabbergasted
I am flabbergasted at how I was treated in this office. After being a patient for over 14 years. I had some concerning symptoms of what I thought could be menopausal related. I was in the hospital and was prescribed a patch and I wanted hormonal testing done asap. The day I came in - I told dr Lerner about my puzzling multitude of symptoms to which he told me that I must not be on the patch as I might get a stroke. He talked to me for just 5 minutes and told me he would go over my history and get back to me within 48 hours , he took my phone number and my email . I ended up calling for the next two weeks as no one got back and I couldn’t reach him or his nurse .I left a message on patient gateway after calling him for 3 weeks in a row . I received a reply from him that he needs to “discuss my symptoms with a dr” whose name I have never heard of in my life , not only that -but he mentioned blood tests which I also did not have, it’s apparent he looked at the wrong file!

I had visits w Dr Lerner over the past couple of years. He questioned my period when he had given me a hysterectomy years prior. During my exam he made a note, that I saw while dressing, “Hysterectomy.” I had been seeing him for 30 years. It concerned me. I spoke about it to someone in the office, they said they would discuss within the office, but 3 years later he’s still practicing. I went a year later and after my exam, .we discussed the hormones I was taking. He asked me why I was taking Progesterone if I had a hysterectomy. He was the one who had prescribed it. He then told me that it could cause breast cancer and I should stop taking it immediately. I spoke to the office again they simply said he was no longer doing OB, but still practicing. That was the last visit. He was a god doctor, but for the safety of his patience he needs to step down.

The best doctor I have ever had. He always puts his patients first. Whenever I needed the time at an appointment, he spent it with me. I am so thankful my sister in law referred me to him. I plan on staying at Newton Wellesley OBGYN for as long as possible.

Knowledgable and skilled, Dr. Lerner's outstanding characteristic for me is his respect. All his interactions with me from exam to consultation to surgery have been marked by patience, gentle humor and above all respect. I have never had a finer GYN in my 40 plus years of receiving care. We are lucky to have him in the Boston area.

Dr Lerner did not give me the time of day. I waited months for an appointment with him, and he didn't spend more than two minutes talking with me. He told me I should not get pregnant while breastfeeding, but he did not discuss contraceptives with me.

I have been going to Dr Lerner for 20 years and he delivered both of my children. He is caring, sensitive, has performed surgery and I would recommend him to anyone. Newton Wellesley Hospital was fantastic, I have never had a negative experience with any level of my interactions with him or his staff.
