I have had two unpleasant experience with Dr. Perry - both times I had an urgent issue that needed to be addressed and he was the only doctor available. My first exposure to Dr. Perry was uncomfortable but I wrote it off as a personality conflict. My second meeting with him was more concerning. After describing my problem, and cursory exam. he diagnosed the issue, (with visual aids!). I disagreed and once again explained my symptoms. He dismissed me saying that there was a one in a million chance that what I described was valid. He repeated the exam again, slapped his thigh and admitted I was right. In addition, I found his patting my arm and grabbing my hands to illustrate a point, a gross intrusion of my personal space. I have been going to OCLI for over thirty years and have always been treated very professionally and with great respect. It saddens me to say that his demeanor and skill set is not representative of the quality of care provided by the rest of the OCLI team.

Will not see again
I will not be seeing Dr. Perry again. As a woman, i felt personal boundaries were not kept. I am 38 and have been seeing eye drs since the 3rd grade. He walked in and told me i was high strung and the pain in my eye was from stress. We hadn’t spoken one word. My demeanor is pretty calm and very polite. I eventually turned to the assistant and asked if i seemed high strung. It was so bizarre. He also held my wrists together and then told me to scratch my nose. I heard him do the same thing to the older woman in the next room.

Dr Perry needs to retire. He depended on a young fellow to tell him the problem. He barely looked at my eye and never told me what was the issues Instead of explaining my issue he handed me studies for medical journals that only a medical student would actual read and understand. A complete waste of time seeing him. I had to make an appointment on the day off and now I know why he was available…don’t waste your time.

If I could give a negative star rating, I would. Not only did Dr. Perry fail to directly address my concerns but he verbally insulted me as I asked him questions about my eyes. He stated, "I guess you really are a true blonde", inferring that my questions were stupid. He apologized as if it were a passing comment when I told him how insulting and unprofessional he was. He went on to defend his behavior indicating his wife was a blonde. The med tech in the room later told me he was uncomfortable with Dr. Henry Perry's remarks as well. When I informed his staff, they indicated he has a dry sense of humor. That's the best we can expect from someone who is supposedly top in their field... Misogynistic remarks towards a patient when they are trying to understand a diagnosis and how to treat the condition? Dr. Perry, you should be embarrassed and ashamed.

By far the very best. Along with Dr. Saha, saved my eye. Extremely compassionate, understanding, and knowledgeable. Very trustworthy and intelligent. Takes time to explain everything and truly cares!
