Herman Sullivan is easily the worst healthcare provider I’ve ever had. He’s more worried about all of the letters behind his name than his patients. He has absolutely no bedside manner. He’s extremely rude, and is quick to interrupt to tell you that you’re wrong. If you want a doctor who cares about you, see anyone else.

Steer clear
Gaslighting, mocking and making fun of my suffering. Worst neurologist I've ever seen.

MISDIAGNOSED
I had been diagnosed with MS by a colleague of Dr Sullivan‘s. Shortly after, I saw Dr Sullivan because he was supposedly the MS specialist in the office. After a couple months he changed my diagnosis to a disease called NMO which is rare and hard to treat (even though all my testing indicated MS). After some time and a couple of follow up visits with Dr Sullivan, it was clear that he was self-absorbed and spent his time talking to me about things that didn’t even pertain to me. When I was finally able to talk, I told him that I was having trouble with my legs, he told me that healing was taking place and that’s why I was having symptoms in my legs. He clearly was not concerned at all. Not long after this I found another neurologist and ended up getting my diagnosis changed back to MS and I am finally starting on a proper medication. But because of my mis-diagnosis I now have further damage from the MS that I believe would have been combated if I had been on proper medication.

After years of seeing this doctor, todays appointment was a complete disappointment. I have had MS for many years, and am a senior citizen. He was dismissive of my concerns, did not review the MRIs he requested I get or radiology report, and then told me he doubted my symptoms were MS related because MS does not have new symptoms for older folks. When I got home from my appointment , I contacted the MRI center and I spoke to the Radiologist (after my appointment with Dr. Sullivan), and he explained my results to me and the lesions seen in various areas on the MRIs actually lined up with the issues I have been having. Very disappointed that the Dr. could not/would not take the time to look at these. His attitude seemed dismissive based on my age. I am uncertain as to what my next steps are, but I know that I will be getting my records from this office and not going back again. I am sure that he is a very good doctor, and has a great wealth of knowledge, but is not right for me!

I went to Sullivan 3 times, what a waste of time. He talked about himself and How great he was and how many initials he had behind his name and how many papers he has written and how many speeches his gives to different places. We never talked about me. I have had MS for 36 years and have seen many neurologist and they have always watched me walk. Never once did he tell me to walk in front of him. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Dr. Sullivan is awesome. I disagree with the bad reviews. He always takes his time explaining things to me and I don't find him arrogant at all. He took the time to explain my MS to me thoroughly in a way that was calming and reassuring to me. I find him warm, kind and funny! He's a great doctor and I know he's there if I need help with managing my disease.

I warn ANYONE whose PCP refers them to Hermann Sullivan to immediately request ANYONE else. This man nearly cost me my life. His medical privileges should be stripped. He is an arrogant, neglectful, heartless person and should NEVER be in control of human lives.

Dr. Sullivan spent 90 minutes with me and my husband yesterday. He explained the results of my MRI, then showed them to me and answered questions as we looked at them on his computer screen. He explained MS clearly and thoroughly. Equally as important, he was warm, kind, funny, and extremely intelligent. I've never had a doctor spend that much time with me! Neither has my husband. He said Dr. Sullivan is the best doctor he's ever seen. I believe Dr. Sullivan is an answer to so many prayers.

Extremely arrogant! Told me that he was better than all my other doctors. I've been treated for MS for 6 years, but he says not MS. Ran a couple tests that were negative or inconclusive and still said I had something else. Told me to stop my meds cold turkey and call him if anything comes up. No treatment suggested and research symptoms myself. Went to Cleveland Clinic for a 2nd opinion. I have MS and very bad to stop meds as I would rebound with worse symptoms. They said get another doc.

He is a smart, educated person. However, he is astonishingly arrogant. His bedside manner lacks. He shows no personal care or compassion to patients and their individual needs. He seems to operate on a one size fits all attitude. But, when your disease does not fit into his textbook box, he throws a potentially deadly and dangerous treatment at you with no immediate follow up or check in. He could care less about you as a person. You are your best and only advocate. Speak up !
