Dr. Herriet Tupas Levitan, MD

Dr tupas takes time to cover your medical concerns. She suggested D3 to us years ago and it has proven to be an excellent supplement! Her background is in infectious disease. She’s ahead of the time!

She is very rude, doesn’t listen to medical concerns, improper diagnosis based off of personal opinion not medical background information. Unwilling to answer medical questions.

I have been a patient for a number of years. I have had multiple odd experiences including being told I couldn’t ask any questions, and that I would have to make another appointment if I needed to talk w her. Also, her office called me to say she wanted me to come in to discuss my mammogram results (without telling me the mammogram results were normal). Even though the mammogram results were normal, and I had no family history of breast cancer, she sent me to a breast surgeon. The surgeon asked me why I was there (because my mammogram results were completely normal and anyone that told me otherwise was crazy). I explained that the doctor sent me and that I would be looking for a new doctor.

Always courteous and caring. She takes time with her patients, and understands that medicine is more than data and statistics.

I've never written a review about a medical provider, but this visit was so disturbing I just hope it will help another person. I waited at least an hour, then was herded through and not allowed to ask ANY questions. I was just looking for a new general physician and care about my own health, blood tests, etc. I want to establish a baseline so I can age actively and in health. She hurriedly looked at the bloodwork I'd just had done somewhere else and told me to take medication (for a condition I don't even have) and THEN gave me outdated photocopies FROM 2003 about that condition (which I still don't have). When I asked her about another concern, she again gave me the wrong information and couldn't actually answer the question I asked. At one point she asked me why I was so concerned about monitoring my own results. Um, doctor, because it's my life. If you care about your health and your time, go elsewhere.

I was hospitalized in March, 2018, with pneumonia, shortness of breath and an electrolyte imbalance. Dr. Tupas-Levitan was my attending physician while I was in the hospital, rather than a hospitalist. She assembled a team of physicians (pulmonologist and nephrologist, along with Dr Tupas-Levitan, internist) who were associates of my current physicians, so they had access to all my records.After a 4 day stay, I was released with my electrolytes balanced. Dr. Tupas-Levitan gave me excellent care!

I have been a patient of Doctor Tupas-Levitan's for a long time. Mostly because her office staff has always been amazing. Those two ladies deserve a medal for putting up with the doctor. I have recently been having more medical issues and trying to see this doctor and get help is a nightmare. My last visit she basically lectured me the whole time about what to do with my personal life. She even said "what's wrong with you people" when I responded to one of her questions. She doesn't listen.
