Dr. Patel has been our family doctor for over 10 years. He is always very caring, thorough, and takes extra time when needed due to a condition that is changing, especially when it is a very serious change. He cared for my husband until his death in 2016, and was always very considerate of his problems. I chose him as our doctor as a result of caring for patients while working at EAMC, as a nurse for nearly 5 years. I like the office help, and have a great working relationship with them.

Even as a new patient on my very first visit I felt rushed and like the doctor didn't hear a word I said. He went as far as to say that one of my conditions that I have been dealing with for years was "nothing to worry about". He didn't even pronounce the condition correctly. I over looked that and continued to visit his office for another 1-1/2 yrs. I cannot tell you any of the nurses names, they never introduce themselves. I just fell like a number and a burden to this doctor and his staff.

I am a medical student that completed a Family Medicine clerkship with Dr. Patel and his staff. Given my education and clinical clerkships -- including clerkships at other primary care offices -- I have a very good baseline on which to evaluate Dr. Patel, his office, and his staff. After my experience at Dr. Patel's office -- experiencing first-hand his empathy, dedication, ETHICS, and clinical wisdom -- I am now a patient. He is second to none in the Auburn/Opelika area, if not the state.

Dr. Patel is wonderful! He saved my Mom and Dad’s lives because he cared and reviewed all of the medications and found that some were causing more health problems for both of them. He takes his time with his patients and makes sure they understand the urgency of what is going on with them. I highly recommend him. If I could give him a 10 star rating I would.

My husband and I both see Dr. Patel and find him to be a very good primary care physician. He is friendly, caring, thorough and attentive. He listens, discusses your concerns and and gives good medical advice based on this and his examination. I will warn you (as does he) that he often runs behind schedule because he spends quality time with each patient. His staff has always been very friendly and helpful.

Love Dr. Patel, but his staff makes patients feel inferior. My appointment was at 10:15 and I came early and the office assistant was rude while telling me that I have to wait till my appointed time at 10:15, then push my paperwork to the side. No matter what was going on with the client, she didn't care. It's a way to do anything and sometimes it's not what you say, it's how you say it. Very disgusted with his staff and he has no clue. Thinking about changing my doctor.
