The doctor recommended that I have bunion surgery, which I did. The bunion was addressed successfully, but after the major healing was over, I was left with worse problems, which included a large bump/lump on the bottom of my foot. When I went back to the doctor to ask about it, his explanation was that “this is your foot anatomy now.“ He did not identify what the problem was, and basically refused to acknowledge the fact that there was a problem, but gave me a high dose of anti-inflammatories to address it (unsuccessfully). At that point I gave up on him but I was unable to walk normally. I was certainly no longer running several miles a week, which I had been doing prior to the surgery. I feel like I was not adequately informed of the risks prior to surgery, and I wish I had never had the surgery.
