Stay away. He is an embarrassment to PeaceHealth and the profession.

He cares more about his own ego than the well-being of this in his care. As a 36 yo trans person in crisis he made me write a letter of apology before treating me while hospitalized. This is because I told him I didn’t think an old white man could understand where I was coming from. Insulting or not, it is not ethical or helpful to withhold medical care during a psychotic break because someone hurt your feelings. He also punitively took privileges even tho the staff and medical doctor disagreed with his decision. This is no doctor, rather a

Dr. Sampley is exceptionally qualified. My daughter was in crisis. She didn't like what he said or did, but I am so grateful that he did not waiver. He did the hard thing that she needed to be safe and on the road to healing.

Dr. Sampley helped me SO much during a recent hospitalization. He is exceptional at listening, and was able to nonjudgememtally piece together comlex emtionally charged dialect into a simplified, correct history and made appropriate diagnosis. I will always appreciate him.

Does not understand adolescents. Intimidates his patients, and does not understand mental illness even though he is a psychiatrist.

Dr. Sampley worked closely with a neurologist to bring my mother back to me. She was very close to being institutionalized after a stroke caused major seizures which made her a bit crazy to the point of being tied to the bed and alarm on bed and cctv. Today if you saw her you would have no idea and probably wouldn't believe me.
