After being diagnosed with cataracts I was advised of my treatment options and the associated costs by a non-healthcare salesperson. After making it clear what my choices were and setting a date for the operations and filling a pile of paperwork that she wanted me to sign without reading, as I was walking out the door she hands me a piece of paper that changes the price of my options from $750 / eye to $1245 / eye. It was like being in a car dealership. I have found a new Ophthalmologist.
