Callous and dismissive
Having seen Chen, it’s difficult to understand who writes these positive reviews. I have never felt less seen, and at the most vulnerable and painful time of my life. A woman like this should not be in charge of pain care.

Dr. Chen is a high level doctor for this practice. She is more than willing to listen to you and give understandable explanations to your questions. She definitely put me at ease during my procedure. A procedure that would make anyone very nervous.

I was scheduled to have a visit with this Dr last fall. I only saw she for a couple of minutes and walked out because of how rude she was. Find another provider.

I've read other reviews. I'm sorry for the people who had bad experiences with Dr. Chen, but no matter how good a doctor is some people have bad experiences. It just happens. I've had a completely opposite experience. I have been seeing Dr. Chen for four years and I've found her courteous, respectful, prompt, understanding and is very conservative about administering pain medication. She has done several procedures on me and I just do not tolerate them well. Dr. Chen is very thoughtful throughout the procedure, looks after me afterwords and has called me at home to check on me. I also like her PA, Kathy Betts. I trust them and they trust me. It is a good fit. Thank you I hope this helps someone.

I saw Dr. Chen today and she was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. She listened to my issues and was sympathetic. She has a very pleasant personality and asked about all my issues and symptoms. Glad I was able to see her!

I’ve battled Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy since 2005, and have been a patient of Dr. Chen since she joined the Rex Pain Management Center. I’m extremely grateful for Dr. Chen’s kindness, patience and attentiveness. She has never once pitied me, which is crucial to me. And she keeps a lid on my pain level by quickly fitting me in for blocks and injections during the worst of flares. I’ve been grateful for her knowledgeable recommendations and keeping me up to date on developments for managing chronic pain. As one of her patients, it’s clear her focus is to provide us with the best care possible. Most importantly, I’ve trusted her, and I’ve trusted her recommendations. When neurological chaos arises (a few times annually), each predicament is more manageable and less frightening while having Dr. Chen as my entrusted doctor. She emboldens me in this battle. I dread to think how I’d have managed all these years without her care, compassion, encouragement and support.

Thank you, Dr. Chen! – Jun 24, 2019

Run and run fast, if you are able to run. I was referred to her by a surgeon with specific directions on what he wanted her to do for pain management. She literally told me she did not care what the surgeon wanted her to do she would not do it! Then she told me to tell her what opioid I wanted her to prescribe to me! All she wanted to do was push opioids on me, I guess if she got you addicted she could keep you coming back to her for business instead of actually doing what the surgeon wanted!

Stay far away from Dr. Chen. She was cruel and demeaning to me during my recent visit and her bedside manner is awful. I have reported her to the medical board. My advice stay far far away run to a different pain clinic because this is not the one.

Always very friendly, prompt. Excellent at the procedures she performs-manages to find the exact spots to alleviate the pain. If not, it's really close. Also listens to me. Just ask if you have questions!
