Our daughter had a colesteatoma which repeated grew back. Dr. El-Kashlan performed 5 surguries, trying to restore her hearing which only worsened. When it grew back the 6th, time, we switched doctors. The new dr. saw the scar tissue resulting from all the surgeries, plus a prosthetic left there which was serving no purpose. The new doctor opened up the problem area so it could be cleaned out on a 6 month basis which has avoided all further surgeries, our ultimate goal.

I was referred to Dr. El-Kashlan in Msy if 2028, and have seen him regularly through December for hearing loss. He is excellent. Sometimes blunt, but he listens carefully. I trust him to give me the best care possible. He focuses on the solution, not on the cause so if you’re interested in untangling the mysteries of hearing loss, he’s not your doc. But he is brilliant at diagnosis and solutions.

I was referred to Dr. El-Kashlan for an acoustic neuroma surgical consult. My wife and I had researched my condition, and had a pretty good idea from our referring doctor what to expect. I found Dr. El-Kashlan to be very straight forward in his assessment and recommendations. He addressed most of the questions on our list before we even asked. My only complaint was the 30 minute wait once we were in the exam room.

He's a very informative Dr, and takes a bit of time to warm up to bedside manner. But his knowledge is very hopeful to my condition. My mom loves him which is kinda odd cuz shes hated everyone of my ENTs over the span of 35 years! We drive over 5 hours to see him from the UP and he's worth the drive. He's very to the point, and will stop you mid sentence. But don't take it as rude, I think he's just thinking. lol
