Inexperienced in thyroid cancer and brain tumors
He might be better at what he does in a decade or so but at this point, he is quite inexperienced especially when it comes to dealing with patients with thyroid cancer or a tumor in pituitary gland. I would feel more comfortable continuing to see Dr. Downs if he was humble enough to refer me to an endocrinologist specializes in thyroid cancer or an endocrinologist specializing in pituitary tumors. But he continued to see me, dismissed all my concerns, my symptoms, didn’t take my thyroid nodules seriously (he didn’t even recommend to monitor them) which turned out to be cancerous. And my pituitary tumor grew twice in size in a year and impacted my vision and caused terrible headaches (he had told me it wouldn’t do anything and we should leave it alone). All he needed to do was to tell me he specializes in regular thyroid disorders and diabetes ut he didn’t. Maybe he will learn from his mistakes. In summary if you have thyroid cancer or brain tumor, do not rely on dr. Downs.
