Dr. Il Joon Paik, MD

The fact that Dr Paik is calm and took time to discuss with me in length my problem is what really stood out. I was referred to him after over 10 years with a condition and he was so precise on his tests, that he diagnosed me and gave me the best option to feel better. Had surgery, recovered well and I feel so much better. He has been a blessing and I am very grateful to him. I was one of the patients that did not want to wait for an appointment but he is worth waiting for.

Like the other reviewe said his bedside manner needs a lot of work. He is condescending and sarcastic to patients who are very ill and seeking help. If you’re looking for a patient, kind, and professional doctor with empathy he isn’t the one.

Dr paik gave detailed explanations and talked a lot but did not seem interested in listening or attentive to what are the patients primary concerns. It was not at all collaborative, it was more of a lecture and pretty mechanical. He talks you listen

Dr. Paik is wonderful. He has a serious demeanor, but he’s kind and very clearly knowledgeable. I trust in his medical opinion and his skills.

He's great - knowledgeable and patient. My experience is wholly positive. HOWEVER - he has loved out of NYC, his office has closed, and there is no way to get my prescription refilled.

His office is chaotic. It seems like none of them know what to do. It's a guarantee his staff will misplace your document, mischarge you, and reschedule your appointment. This represents a lot about the doctor that hires them. Dr.Paik sounds very arrogant and truthfully he can. He's well educated but frankly if I have a choice, i would rather not see him.

Office is very disorganized. We were incorrectly billed as was was our insurance company. This was an effort to generate higher Billing by using one Tax ID for the insurance co. and another to the patient

Very knowledgeable. Took time to listen to my symptoms, asked questions to get to know my illness better and to better understand what's been happening. Read throughout my medical history and asked for additional tests before diagnosing me with anything. Would definitely go back for further testing and consultantions.

I had a good experience with Dr. Paik and his fellow but the office is completely unorganized. They scheduled me for a colonoscopy without ever reviewing the results of my blood work. They had no idea how to accept lab results from Labcorp. They do not use email for communication. The day before the procedure I called the insurance company who said that pre-authorization was never requested. The practice manager had no idea how much the procedure would cost. It was a very frustrating process.
