Dr. Ilya Laufer, MD

Following a back surgery and experiencing an issue I was referred to Laufer fora follow up consultation. Laufer recommended a HUGE surgery. He explained the surgery in very speculative terms, lacking in confidence or protecting himself. He even noted that the issue I was experiencing could not be repaired. Since Laufer’s plan would have required a long rehabilitation period where the results were doubtful at best, I consulted with 2 other MDs both of whom advised against Laufer’s plan. I saw another MD about an unrelated matter, who also noted that the issue I was experiencing could not be repaired.Why was Laufer willing to put me through this seemingly terrible and unnecessary surgery? Was it for greed? Did he want to try out new and maybe untested surgical techniques? Only Laufer can answer these questions. I would not let Laufer and a scalpel get within a 1000 feet of me! I don’t trust him.

Dr. Laupher's sensitivity and clarity was a huge blessing for our family in the hardest of times. He took the time to communicate completely, making sure that we understood the choices we were making. He made my mother see what needed to be seen and did it with compassion.

Absolutely phenomenal. Such a caring Doctor. Everything he said happened. The surgery, the recovery and the time in the hospital were all as good as it gets. One of the best doctors I have ever met.

I will HIGHLY recommend Dr Laufer to anyone Needing surgery for the spine. When I awoke from surgery, I honesty didn't think the surgery had been done. In the last 2 years after the surgery, I have NEVER felt a single pain from this surgery.!
