I had the worst experience with Dr. Voloshin, which is so sad because his PA was amazing! Dr. Voloshin did NOT stop talking long enough for me to say a single word, he told me that there was nothing to fix and that all I needed was another shot and more PT after these have continued not to work. His PA was the only one that stopped to listen to what was wrong and gave actual solutions, but he immediately shut her down. Even she looked shocked! He is dismissive, rude, errogant, and ill-mannered. Worst bedside manner I have ever experienced from a doctor. I will be going to a new doctor!!

Excellent choice for a surgeon
I am very impressed as to how quickly I regained most of my range of motion with a complete shoulder replacement. I had very little pain associated the surgery. Within 3 weeks I was back to my employment, with my brace. After 2 months my range of motion is at 80% and I feel great. People are amazed how fast I bounced back after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Voloshin as a surgeon.

Excellent surgeon!
The doc is a little abrupt but explains things thoroughly. I’ve had 2 shoulder surgeries. The first with a different doc was MISERABLE. The second with Dr V. was courteous, professional, on time and almost completely pain free. Can’t wait to have the other side done asap!

Dr. Ilya Voloshin
I have been the lucky recipient of Dr Voloshin’s surgical expertise as well as his and his Staff’s compassionate and considerate level of care. He performed a shoulder surgery on both of my shoulders and as a result of his surgical skills the outcome and recovery of my injuries was more than I could have hoped for. Dr Voloshin has my complete respect as well as my highest recommendation. There is nowhere a more skilled or competent surgeon as Dr Voloshin.

Rudest Dr. Ever
I cannot believe how extremely rude he was to my family member. He had her in tears. There is no reason to treat your patients like this. Who the heck does he think he is? I would never recommend him to anyone.

Never
Saw him many years ago after I experienced post herpetic neuralgia in left shoulder post shingles. I could not lift my arm and he demanded I walk my arm up the wall. I couldn’t. It was excruciating pain. He told me my frozen shoulder required surgery and that PT was going to be a grueling, horrible experience and tried to dissuade me from that option. His arrogance and rushed demeanor, and complete lack of empathy left me in tears.I went to PT and regained use without unnecessary surgery. Would never return. There are so many other great surgeons to choose from.

He did a shoulder replacement on me about 5 years ago. Everything went as good as it possibly could. I am more than satisfied with the results. I plan on contacting his office to schedule the other shoulder to be replaced

Outstanding Professional Care
After my shoulder injury, Dr. Voloshin very efficiently diagnosed nature of my injury and subsequently performed complex rotor cuff repair surgery. His expert skills combined with informative care full of empathy on the day of surgery were very reassuring. The entire team including anesthesiologists and nurses from Highland Hospital was outstanding. I strongly recommend Dr. Voloshin as the surgeon to go to!

Great Care!
I was so pleased with the evaluation, treatment and time Dr. Voloshin gave me today. We discussed the current treatment plan and long term prognosis. He told me (more than once) to call his office if the symptoms didn't improve. I felt he understood my level of discomfort and my desire to relieve the pain and return to my activities.

Mr. Voloshin is rudest most arrogant person I have ever met. He cut me off when asking questions about surgery clearly indicating he only cares about himself. I made a follow up appointment for pain my right shoulder after surgery, and for an evaluation of my left shoulder which he said he would not look at until after surgery on my right shoulder which was 5 months prior to making this appointment. He was roughly 30 minutes late coming into the examining room, looked at my rt. shoulder for no longer that 60 seconds, and said the pain was probably scar tissue. I asked him to look at my left shoulder and he said, “Make another appointment”. I told him I did make an appointment for both shoulders and he said “I am a very busy man. I don’t have time for this” He could not have been anymore Rude. I then made an appointment with Dr. Stefanich who was great, spent all the time I needed and was completely professional. Do yourself a favor, don’t waste your time with Dr. Voloshin.

I am a nurse, who has seen many shoulder injections performed by PCPs. When I had a mild torn RTC about 10 years ago, I was referred to this Dr.. I concur with others: don’t expect to sit and converse with this guy. He is doing you a favor by working on you, so make sure you are straight and to the point with your concerns, and he will work his wonders for you despite how busy he is. I looked him up for my fiancé and laughed at the negative reviews because I couldn’t find one that said he messed someone up physically. It was all about his personality. Who cares?!? He is the best. 10 years later, my pain is still gone with only one injection (performed under ultrasound)- THE RIGHT WAY!

Okay, so Dr. Voloshin isn't a huggy, touchy, feely kind of guy. Who really cares?? He is an EXPERT in his field! He travels the world to teach others reverse shoulder replacement. As a retired nurse, I've worked with many doctors that are not as friendly as he is! But I will tell you - he put my shoulder back together and has a strict physical therapy regime that is the best. If you are looking for the touchy, feely doctor - go ahead. I'll take Dr. Voloshin and his expertise any day! And, by the way, his PA Carie Brandt is phenomenal. Many thanks to them all!!!

I will NEVER NEVER recommend this dr. to ANYONE! AND WILL NOT change my review. I HAVE NEVER felt so strongly about a dr's visit and the horrible treatment I was given. I DON't care if you don't share my comments. They are mine and mine alone! Of course you wouldn't share a bad review!! would you?

Dr Voloshin put my shoulder & bicep back together after I dislocated it. The extent of damage was categorized as "massive". It's almost one year later & I'm in good shape for 71. I've resumed almost all activities except for tennis which Dr advised against. He's amazing!

Very good Doctor. Honest, tells it like it is and no BS. I went to him for a 2nd opinion (he may not offer everyone a second opinion if first Dr was right) and he recommended arthroscopic versus open surgery. Would definitely recommend.

Dr Voloshin does a thorough examination. He explains options and advises but does not pressure the patient to have surgery if there are other options. I chose to have surgery on both shoulders which significantly improved my quality of life. He is candid and explains recovery in detail, which helped me make a plan to get back to work. He contacted me after surgery to see how I was progressing and managing pain. We are fortunate to have Dr Voloshin at Strong. He is a brilliant surgeon who is an asset to our community. I have the highest confidence in him.

Dr. Voloshin gave me life changing advice about my choice for shoulder replacement. He presented the facts and explained my options without drama. I was reluctant, but considering my situation, decided to have the surgery. So glad I did. The improvement in my life was everything I could hope for. You MUST faithfully do the physical therapy after, but I did and my shoulders are like they were 30 years ago. Thank you Dr. Voloshin, you and your team did an excellent job.

Dr. Voloshin is a skilled surgeon and we are very lucky to have him in the Rochester area. His personality can seem cold and uncaring, but he is the first surgeon to call me after surgery, usually a PA or nurse calls. Yes, he seems rushed at times, because of his skill he is high demand and there are only so many hours in a day. When my son saw a PA for an elbow issue, he called Dr. V and he squeezed him in right then. Two of my sons and myself have had surgery by Dr. Voloshin and I highly recommend him to many.
