Blood stream infection
Dr. Durra treated me while I was a patient at CMMC in August, 2024. My condition was that my infected kidney was spreading infection to the rest of my body. Dr. Durra helped me recover by evaluating me (hands on doctor), prescribing a path forward, and letting me leave the hospital as soon as it was safe. Beyond being skilled in infectious disease control, I found him to be an empathic human being, who has the ability to bring his training and experience to the patient in a comforting manner. I'm grateful that Dr. Durra was on my treatment team.

Grateful
I saw Dr. Durra before he went to Lewiston and he saved my life. When I got sick again in 2019 I called his office to see if I could see him and he said have the hospital send the referral. He was the same In 2019 as he was in 2005. I will continue to call his office if I need an infectious disease specialist.

He acted confused; kept trying to question me about symptoms/diagnosis I was not there for, insulted me, then insulted my family whom he does not know,; he was at a loss when I questioned his odd 'interrogation' of me; acted as if he was sedated/not all there mentally (self medicating?)/spacey. Claimed I was hallucinating/mentally ill...he has a history of this type of erroneous diagnosis...look it up. I would not recommend this man for any reason! In my opinion, he should not be allowed to practice. He also seems to have a history of mood swings/patient preference/being unbalanced emotionally/not consistent behaviorally(my interpretation of what I have read from others who have had the unfortunate experience of speaking to Dr. Durra) according to another site I have been too.
