Excellent and devoted Doctor. Honest &concerned
I have been seeing Dr. Connolly and Emily her Nurse for 3 years. I feel I have been blessed to have them care for me. I would never choose any other team! My questions are always answered and they do not care if i bring my husband with me. I feel when they see me that I am their only patient. That is so important when I know how very busy they are with patient's who are really sick. From the moment I was diagnosed I turned my care to God and to this team and it has been so good for me. I love the Nurse's in infusion for their special care and concern, the desk staff have always been so kind to me. When they are super busy I know we won't be doing our moment of "chat" so I grab my book and start reading. These people all get attached to the patient's they see at some point. . When they lose a patient it hurts them. They have such feelings for us all. Hard not to. Cancer "sucks" to all of us. Just be kind, patient and the day will go well.

First, the receptionist Nella sighed when I said I need help reading. Then she became angry when I asked that my picture not be taken. Second, when I made the appointment I let the receptionist know that chemo is against my beliefs. The receptionist told me that when she talked to Dr. Connolly about my beliefs her exact words were, "I would never force someone to do something they don't want to do." Yet all Dr. Connolly talked about was chemo. I tried to cut in to no avail. Also, Brian the medical assistant insisted I take my shoes off to stand on the scale but he had no idea when it was cleaned last. He became very upset with me when I said that I would not remove my shoes. Then he told me personal stories that I really didn't want to hear. I have cancer I don't want to hear about your "success" when my life is going down the tubes. Unprofessional and uncaring. Overly clinical and lacking people skills. Sad I have to give up my god to save my life.

NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD. Would not recommend Irene Connolly, oncologist karmanos/Northern Michigan cancer doctor. Been with her for 2 years. Has absolutely no empathy for patient or family!

My appointments with Dr. Connolly as my Doctor have been very informative. I have been treated with respect and I feel she is really interested in finding out what is wrong with me. I find her easy to talk to and she always answers my questions the best she can. I feel very lucky to have her taking care of me.
