She runs late, and she's worth it.
Telehealth
I experienced Dr. Puri as kind, intelligent, insightful, and very knowledgeable. Her diagnostic process included my diet, sleep, life situation, extensive bloodwork, and mental health history. She does run late, and the woman at the front desk was honest with me about that, saying that Dr. Puri takes as much time as is needed for each patient. My only recommendations are that they set up a text notification system letting patients know when the doctor is running late, and also that she schedules less appointments, or more time for each, to show respect for patients' time. All in all, I am very satisfied.

Caring Doctor
Telehealth
I have seen Dr puri for over 20 years. She has gone out of her way to take care of my mental health. She has stuck by me when I had no job and almost no money. She has done everything possible to provide kind, compassionate, personalized care for me. I know she has an extremely busy schedule buff to she never makes excuses. All the people complaining about her being late don’t understand that the reason she is late is because some patients take more time than what is allotted. If she wanted to, she could be completely indifferent and enforce the time, but she allows patients to take more time if they are in need of extra help. Can you imagine how hard it would be to rush someone off the call if they’re saying they are suicidal or wanting to hurt themselves? I don’t think people understand how stressful it is to be the one on the receiving end of people’s mental health issues. I can’t begin to imagine how stressful her job is. I feel truly blessed having her as my provider.

This doctor has a big ego and will not listen to your concerns. She does a good job pretending she cares but she could care less. Don’t waste your time on this provider. She is also consistently late.

She arrived 45 minutes late to appointment , and told me to use two words only to answer questions . I felt unheard and rushed out . The appointment scheduling is also the worst , l had to call 6 times just to schedule .

Late and Does Not Listen to Concerns
Telehealth
did not take my concerns with medication or treatment seriously, the office did not communicate with her so she did not even look at the labs she ordered, did not get into contact with my therapist after many attempts on my therapist's side, constantly late to appointments, I could not get into contact with her outside of appointments even in emergencies

Despite knowing I do not currently have a functioning vehicle, Dr Puri is insisting I take an Uber or cab so I can physically pick up my Rxs, when other doctors simply phone them in. Puri said she didn't WANT to phone mine in because it would just take too much time. It's bad enough that she's slow, always late, talks over an echoing speakerphone, and addresses vitamins more than anti-depressants, but to put someone already in stress through the trouble of having to order and pay for a cab because she's just lazy is criminal. Avoid this woman. Avoid Community Psychiatry. It's a joke.

By far the worst experience i've ever had with a doctor. The first time I visited she told me to completely change my diet to cut out gluten and dairy without even asking what type of diet I was on and within minutes of meeting me. It was off putting and very out of context when she was not aware of my nutritional needs. The second appointment she did not tell me until after the session started she did not actually have my test results and we would need to reschedule. This was after making me wait and listen to her personal phone call that she took at the begining our session for 10 minutes. The office then never scheduled a follow up call to review results after repeated requests to schedule (at least 5).

Learn from me and RUN, do not walk, away from this place. I went to Dr. Puri, hoping to help my 3 year old son who has been exhibiting some autistic behavior. Every session she was at least 20 minutes late - those of you with kids with special needs know how great it is waiting with them in a non-child proof waiting room. Then the only thing she attempted was to tell me to read a book and not give my son sugar. She set him up for an ADHD test - we drove the 40 minutes to the clinic only t

She provides a safe and caring environment and excellent knowledge of treatments for various diagnosis. She is only in the San Diego area one Saturday per month so it's difficult to get an appointment in the San Diego office. She has continued to be available to her San Diego patients even though she moved her practice to Torrence. This is a testament to her commitment to her patients.
