Dr. Jacob Mong, DO

If you have an issue, I would highly recommend Dr. Mong. I just can’t say enough good about him. I found Dr. Mong after I had a botched cataract surgery from a different doctor. At my first visit with Dr. Mong, I knew I had found the right doctor to restore my vision. Dr. Mong was understanding and he listened to me. He is so knowledgeable and he explained everything to me along the way. I have to say restoring my eyesight has been quite a process. But, Doctor Mong with his team of experts did restore my vision. Now I can see again. And after this long journey he performed cataract surgery on my right eye which came out perfect. I will be forever indebted to Dr. Mong.

What an incredible experience. The team was professional and made me feel at ease through the whole process. I appreciate Dr Reinschmidt and Dr. Bewley's expertise explaining the surgical process. I can't thank my surgeon, Dr Mong, enough for my new eyes with light adjustable lens implants. Wow. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking cataract surgery. I tried out one other surgical practice first after being referred by my local optometrist, however, hands down this was a far better experience.

Dr. Mong was so great to work with. He was patient, kind, calm, and VERY THOROUGH! He told us what was needed, what the procedure would entail, the cost to us. The staff was kind and helpful throughout the process, working with us as we live 2.5 hours away. The surgery was extremely successful, resulting in 20 20 vision distance and 20 30 for reading; a huge improvement! Dr. Mong also read my husband well. The eyedrops required after surgery can be a hassle. Dr. Mong recommended combining all of the eyedrops into one bottle which cost a little more than free, $85. as of this date, but so much better than giving 3 or 4 drops in each eye two or three times a day if you can swing it. We are ecstatic!

Dr. Jacob Mong is amazing. He performed piggyback lens, stent, and YAG laser surgery for me. Besides being an excellent surgeon, he is kind-hearted, extremely intelligent, trustworthy and very enthusiastic about improving patients' vision. He treats patients with respect. Both his clinic and his surgery are full of employees who are competent and kind. These factors made eye surgery as non-threatening as possible. I highly recommend him. He solved problems other doctors couldn't. I can now see like a normal person, and I will always be grateful to Dr. Mong for restoring my vision.

An exacerbation of eye pressure brought me to see Dr. Mong. I feel like he and his team saved the vision in my right eye. As a nurse, I am no stranger to arranging urgent procedures; however, in that moment I was an overwhelmed (and honestly scared of eye surgery) patient and felt all treated me kindly, gave expert care and instruction on my individualized plan of care. Thank you Vision Quest Team.

After the examination Dr. Mong could not find any reason for my vision defect. He mentioned the word “stroke” multiple times and ordered a brain MRI. I had that done (which cost me 900 Dollars), the MRI came back clear according to the radiologist. After having called Dr. Mong’s office three times to have him tell me his interpretation, a staff member called back and repeated the radiology report. I wanted a reason for an additional field vision test. A second staff member called back and told me he would talk to the doctor and call back momentarily, which never happened. I feel I have not been given sufficient information and that an expensive MRI was ordered too quickly. It seems impossible to get a hold of Dr. Mong to get his take on the results. I will certainly not go to his office again.

How long does sit generally take to get an appointment for consultation regarding cataract surgery?

The staff was very welcoming and took more than reasonable safety precautions. Dr. Mong was wonderful, put my mind at ease, explained the issues at hand so I could understand them. He was thorough and allowed ample time for me to ask questions. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Mong is absolutely AMAZING! He is up-to-date on cutting edge techniques and sits and really listens. He did my 2 cataract surgeries and I am beyond pleased. The entire staff is outstanding, special shout out to surgery coordinator Carmen for managing to work magic making appointments!

I was very impressed and grateful for the care I received from Dr. Mong. He was efficient and gave me a thorough eye exam, explained my eye concerns in a way that I easily understood, and took time to answer my questions. He was very personable. His staff was also knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I am grateful to be able to trust them with all of my eye care needs and know I am in good hands.

Dr. Mong did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. He and his staff were wonderful.

I was having a few eye issues and was worried that I might be at the first stage of cataracts. After a meeting with Dr. Mong he assured me that no operation was needed, at this time, and the effect I was having was possibly temporary floaters. I was greatly relieved that his honesty and being thorough with me is settling my concerns about my eye sight.

I can't help but believe that if 500 people left a review there would be 500 5 stars. My husband had tri focal cataract surgery lens implants and is seeing 20/15. NO MORE GLASSES! Doctor Mong is a perfectionist. His staff made us feel so comfortable and they have great senses of humor. We could not be more thrilled with his skills and care.

I was pleased with his communication skills and was extremely efficient. His staff from start to finish was outstanding. He operates his facility in a way that makes this Republican smile. More like him and we can fix how bloated, slow, medical system.

Dr Mong is very thorough, knowledgeable and listens to his patient's concerns. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist. You will leave well versed in your condition and your care options.

Dr. Mong is a treasure, I'm so happy I found him. I had cataract surgery several years ago in another state and was noticing I was not seeing things as clearly as before. Dr. Mong performed a laser procedure on each eyes, and what a difference! He and his staff at his Meridian office and his place of surgery are fantastic. They are welcoming, helpful, and most important don't rush to get you out the door.
