Consultation
I recently had a consultation with Dr.Malekia and I'm still trying to process everything that went on during my visit. He talked badly about other providers (that work with him) and that speaks volumes in itself. I was uncomfortable, confused, disappointed, and still upset. I travel hours for my healthcare and I do so to get away from physicians like him.

Not impressed
Drove up from Columbus the night before my appointment to make sure I was on time at 7:30am for an 8:00am appointment. He was a no show. I walked out of the exam room at 8:35am and requested my money back. Inexcusable to be a no show on the first appointment of the day. He did call at 8:40am and apologized. He asked if I wanted to come back after my other appointment. No thanks. Very unprofessional.

Rude and Unhelpful
Was very rude And kept on Interrupting me to the point where I was almost in tears. When I ask questions regarding my treatment plan to his office they simply copy and pasted my after visit notes with no further explanation. When I spoke about his notes with my primary care doctor the things on the notes contradicted the things he told me in our appointment. No idea what to believe about my condition. The nurse who Responded to me disabled replies so it's not like I'll ever know

Dr. Maleki introduced me to a more holistic thinking for my weight and health management. All aspects of my well being play into the completely healthy body. Let me explain one aspect using a chess game metaphor. Today I had a small bowl of cherry tomatoes for lunch. Each piece was eaten very slowly, savoring the rush of flavors with each bite. This is part of a preparation to eat differently than before. In Chess, certain positions arising from the opening are a delight to examine; they are delicious. One does not arrive at such positions randomly but through a great deal of preparation.

I had been having serious problems with the quality of my walking since having a knee replacement four years ago and hammerhead toe surgery one year ago on the same leg. Dr. Maleki looked me in the eye and listened carefully as he asked me questions. He carefully explained what was likely to be going on with my walking difficulties. This compassionate man of medicine shared with me some of his understanding of the interconnectedness of my mind and body. The brain as part of the nervous system is infinitely complex having many layers both conscious and unconscious. He said it was likely that the trauma of the surgeries, pain, and walking difficulties leading up to the surgeries left me with a condition of dysfunctional communication between my brain and my leg. He was sympathetic to my frustration with his methodical plan of recovery that would progress so slowly and gave me the feeling that he was treating the whole person that I am. Four months later my walk has improved greatly.

Dr. Maleki took a lot of time with me. Most of all, I appreciated his thorough explanations of my symptoms and his proposed treatment plan. I am a patient who thrives when I have complete information. He was generous with those details and completely patient with me. I would recommend him to anyone.
