Dr. James Altieri, MD

I am an old patient of Dr. A. He was recommended to me from another patient. He is so kind and very thorough. I remember every time i would go for an appt, he would ask me about my neck. Did it hurt? Can you swallow? I had no problems that I could think of with my neck. However, he did diagnose me with type 2 diabetes. He did refer me for an ultrasound which some nodules were found and benign. Thyroid levels were always in range. Mystery. But he was concerned about my neck. Fast forward to 2024 and I am back to my home state. As soon as my Endo NP walked in she asked me about my neck. I told her that Dr. A used to ask me about this all the time too. Total thyroidectomy done in Sept 2024. I just wanted to thank Dr. A for his attentiveness. If I lived closer, I would definitely return. Thank you Dr. A!!!

Dr. Alteri is the kindest man as far as doctors go. He is very attentive and super friendly. But he does not seem to check my chart messages. I had an xray over two weeks ago, and he still has not reviewed my results. He was supposed to call in my prescription the day of my appointment, but he still hasn't done so. I have reached out several times, but it still has not been done. You are simply ghosted once you leave. It was not like this in the past. I have been a patient of his for a long time, but I've seen a major decline in the past 5 years. Very sad because I like him very much.

Always a pleasure to see Doctor Altieri he really cares about his patients.. I never feel rushed and he find best treatment for the issue He is emphatic and always willing to listen

Wonderful Doctor! Takes time with his patients and really listens. He also explains medications and medical issues to his patients instead of just prescribing meds and moving them out the door. I would highly recommend Dr. Altieri!

Dr Altieri is a wonderful and compassionate physician. Our family has been seeing him for over 15 years. If it were not for this physician, I would be seeking another primary care practice. The challenge is the staff with little understanding of the meaning of what constitutes a medical home. They are so stuck on the steps to delivering care they have lost sight of the meaning of the reason the practice exits - to meet patient needs. This starts with listening.

I LOVE Dr. Altieri. I have been going to him for over 15 years and would never go to anyone else. Since being bought by Lexington Hospital, the staff and the rest of the office have gone totally downhill. I have no idea what happened just because they were bought out, but I still love him and will continue to see him hoping they will one day be sold and bought by another hospital. The staff has become HORRIBLE!
