I am in a wheelchair. He kept asking what my diagnosis was for me being in a chair was. He said I would have to have a diagnosis or would not be in one. I have spent two years plus trying to find a diagnosis and I want my life back. This guy was rude. He told me without a diagnosis I would not get disability. He said he didn’t have access to some of my specialist information, which is hogwash. It is all linked. I asked to be referred to a geneticist. He said there is not one close. I got out of him there is one at KU med. He said to have a different doctor refer me! Ugh. Useless and mean.

He was rude, overbearing, condescending, bullying, When I was establishing a new PCP. Apparently he already had my med records, when he asked what my med allergy's were, before I could open my notebook with all my meds and med info, he started reading from his monitor the exact meds I am allergic to without my having given any consent written or orally for that to have been transmitted to him or his medical group from my previous doctor and his medical group. When discussing my copd he asked how often I used my inhaler, I told him about every 6 hours. He exclaimed that was way to often and that my copd was out of control and I need a long term copd medication. I explained the prescription called for use every 6 hrs or as needed. He exclaimed that was ridiculous. When I asked do you think pushing more pharmaceuticals at my copd was the answer, he told me that prescribing meds was 80% of his job, very rudely I might add. Much more and worse.

Ridiculous doesn't even begin to describe it!
I had 2 visits that were unremarkable. This one was a joke. I have knee pain, no injury - but significant weight gain under Dr. Bear's treatment for hypothyroidism. So I scheduled an appointment for my thyroid and knee pain. What I found a bit ironic was that a doctor with a pronounced Buddha belly would scold me about controlling what I eat, when I'm probably half his size. Beyond that, when I mentioned going to a vegetarian diet to remove cholesterol, he acted like I was nuts. When I asked if a leading weight loss/diabetes drug to control weight was a viable option, he ignored it and later when I called thinking he forgot, his nurse told me he wasn't discussing that. What???? Sorry Doc, but I have enough of an IQ to know a ridiculous M.D. Got another doctor the very next day that I love and who was willing to listen and advise and treat me. I don't do arrogance well.

Spare people the indignity
Disrespectful, rude, condescending, inconsiderate, demeaning tone, unprofessional, no compassion, unwilling to listen and willfully negligent. He treated my son and I, new patients, with no respect and made false and inaccurate accusations with no medical finding. Furthermore, his medical knowledge and expertise is questionable as some of his argument was determined to be incorrect. St francis should really remove him from their roster and spare anyone else this indignity.

Does not listen to patient
Dealing with consistent yeast infection caused by diabetes. Treated by several different doctors over the years with yeast infection medication, told Dr. Bear, but he diagnosed the problem as athlete's foot fungus, and called in a prescription for athlete's foot medication, which I didn't realize until I picked it up at the pharmacy. I will never see Dr. Bear again!

One of the least pleasant and weirdest appointments I've ever been to. Very rushed, completely uninterested in the issue I came in to get help with, just rapid fire ran down a list of expensive tests the computer seems to think I'm due for? Did not physically examine me at all. No actual interest in understanding my medical issues; seems to be interested in referring for unrelated expensive testing based on no symptoms. The experience was bizarre and surreal...like taking the car to get the oil changed, but the mechanic refuses to even discuss changing the oil and tells you that you need new windows and tires. I left unhelped and honestly confused. It was dehumanizing.
