I definitely would recommend Dr. Benner 100%.
I had only been seeing his excellent PA's. You don't get to meet him until you are hospitalized. But don't worry he is excellent & has wonderful bedside manners. Dr Benner made me feel like I was a person not a number. He took his time to tell me about my surgery etc. He is the best of the best for sure. I don't know how he did it, but at my age I've had many surgeries & I always felt pain or discomfort. I never felt either from the moment I woke up. Thank you, Dr Benner for all you did for me.

The Elusive Dr. Benner
On my first office visit prior to my surgery, I did not meet Dr. Benner. I met David, one of Benner's PAs. The ONE AND ONLY TIME I saw Dr. Benner face to face was for about 4 minutes just before the surgery. He marked the leg that the stint was to be placed in. That was 10 months ago. And although I had an 11 day stay in the hospital due to an infection that set in on the surgical site and have had about 5 or 6 office follow-up visits, NONE of them included Benner. While I was in the hospital and at each office visit, I have seen Korey, another one of Benner's PAs. I will say that Korey is professional, intelligent, knowledgeable, personable and everything you would want in your doctor. Also the office staff are friendly and professional. BUT this review is supposed to be about Dr. Benner. So I can't tell you a lot about Benner except, If you become one of his patients, if you want to know what he looks like, look at his web site, because probably you won't see him in the office!

Dr. Benner is an excellent Heart Surgeon, he has saved my life twice, first operation was an emergency ascending aortic dissection where I waited almost 20 hours after first symptoms before I went to ER! And the 2nd operation was a repair and an extension of the first operation where 2 bad bacteria had attached itself to mechanical repairs he had done. This time he changed out all mechanical repairs to biological/ cadaver material. My only wish is he would affiliate himself with more than the One (1) hospital Trident he performs at.

Dr Benner and his team are awesome. I had a quadrupole by pass at the age of 72. I found Dr Brenner took the time to explain what was about happen then each day he or his staff would check on how I was doing while I was in the hospital. High recommend.

Dr. Benner and his team are great. I was able to get a rush appointment that turned into a Saturday morning procedure. Everything was explained to me. They had forms on the web that really reduced the initial visit time. Their great!

I am grateful that Dr. Brenner was my surgeon for my quad bypass surgery. I am 3.5 weeks since surgery and feeling great. The most impressive part is his great care in his patients appearance after this very invasive operation. I can hardly see my scar on my chest .... and his team used laparoscopic technique to farm veins from my leg to use in the bypass surgery. One incision on the lower part of my leg and one higher up. I don't look like a Frankenstein experiment gone wrong.

I was referred to Dr. Benner by another physician. Could not get appt. with the doctor, but was given an appt. with his assistant. That appt. needed to be cancelled and rebooked by his office, so I did see the assistant who still wanted me to see Dr. Benner. Made an appt., they cancelled, made another appt. and they cancelled. Made a 3rd appt. and they cancelled. I will be looking for another physician to replace Dr. Benner who after 3 cancelled appts. I never saw.

As a registered nurse that worked in the operating room for many years, I can truly say that there are good and bad in every medical field. My experience with Dr Benner and his staff has been superior. Dr Benner is a very smart Dr who gives you all the options and takes time to explain each one. He is very easy to talk to and does not rush you if you need time. His office staff are happy and friendly and it feels like a family. As a person in the medical field, I would greatly recommend .
