Dr. James Burke Jr, MD

Dr. Burke has helped me tremendously with two herniated discs. He gave me my life back! He is kind and understanding. Sometimes he is difficult to get an appointment, and his front end staff can be a bit curt, however, he himself is great!

Been to Dr Burke several times since 2017 for problems with pinched nerve in my neck.When i aggravate my neck i suffer tremendous pain for couple of weeks. This man has not done a thing to help me. He blows me off every time i see him .Saw the Pa several weeks ago was explained to about surgery he could do to help,saw Burke yesterday and once again he blew me off again after 5 minute consultation. I f you are thinking of going to him I would look around first.Gave him 1 star only because you cannot do no stars.

Great,did my surgery and I was very pleased with outcome.great bedside manner,checked on me after surgery.very knowledgeable about what his does.

Don't waste your time getting a referral to him if someone else has worked on your back! He won't even schedule you to come in and doesn't care that you're not able to make a 2 hour trip back to Pittsburgh to see the original surgeon due to other family health matters and have no other way to even get to Pittsburgh. Wouldn't even give him one star but website wouldn't let me post without a rating.

He wasn’t very helpful. I’m in constant pain and he did nothing for me. Make sure u bring ur discs and papers to every appointment. He copies nothing

After driving an hour in rain and fog, an extremely rude receptionist informed me I could not see Dr Burke, even to talk because i did not bring my mri discs. As the discs were previously provided I assumed they were copied. Nobody told me to bring the discs to each appointment. I asked to at least see him as I had questions regarding other tests he had performed. The office was empty and I thought five minutes of his time was little to ask. I will never know if Dr. Burke is a good surgeon as I will never return.

I HIGHLY ADVISE DR. BURKE, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO GET AN APPT. FOR FOLLOW UP FROM MY TEST THAT WAS ORDERED. I WAS TOLD BY THE NURSE THAT THERE WEREN'T ANY AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS. I WANTED TO DISGUSS MY PROBLEM AND FIND OUT WHY I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN. I HAVE TO TRAVEL TO JOHNSTOWN WHICH IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE FOR MYSELF, BEING THAT I WORK IN ALTOONA. PHONE INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN THATS ALL BUT I HAD QUESTIONS FOR THE DOCTOR, HIMSELF.
