I have been with Dr Carter for quite a few years now and am VERY satisfied with my care. He has a great command of current research and practice and will tell when the latest hot trend is not supported by the evidence. Sometimes I have to wait - but that is because he does not rush his patients! BTW, the Wellness Exam is required by Medicare and is no different than baseline exams given by Kaiser and other systems.

Dr. Carter seems to have good info but he's an awful listener who ignores his patients needs and complaints. He ignored my conditions for over 2 years till they virtually paralyzed me. Only then did he refer me to a specialist. It never occurred to him to test me for H-Pylori (turned out to be positive). He wants you to come for annual wellness exam without listening to you. His office refused to schedule me for a visit after a car accident b/c I had canceled the useless wellness exam.

I love Dr. Carter. He is thorough and takes time with you. He does chat about research which i find interesting. His wealth of knowledge is amazing. He does simple tests in the office that let us know what is going on with me. He provides what works and tells you that he won't do something because it's not really effective. He's aware and open to hearing about alternative treatments. I have been going to him for 8 years and will continue. The staff is wonderful. Really wonderful.

I have been with Dr. Carter for about 3 years and he does not connect with you and often just rambles on while you are forced to listen to him. Every appointment my husband and I have made, you wait an average of 1.5 hours before being seen because he is always behind and is not aware of any schedules. Since he is so much into his ego, he is not aware of anyone else. I am currently trying desperately to find a new primary doctor.
