Listens, helpful and great advise
I've 'know' Dr Chestnut for too many years - from stress fractures to absurdly tight IT band(s) -and he has been nothing but great to deal with. He listens & explains what is going on so someone that just wants to know how to 'fix it' is able to do so. And, he's a nice guy!

Listened well
Great visit today. I feel real hope in being able to move without pain with the plan we put together. I have a long history with a knee injury and what compensation has done to my body. He listened and totally understood my movement issues. Didn’t try to do too much at once but plans to see how treating certain areas first might clear up other areas. Recommendation from a friend and I liked his bedside manner. I do think the gals at the check in desk were short and unfriendly. Felt bad for the older two ladies who were checking in as they were being conversational and they were met by Portlandia check in receptionists.

Dr. Chesnutt was completely devoid of feelings and compassion; never tested or asked how patient was doing. Was to the point of being rude and asked if the patient wanted to be better. Why would the patient be there if they didn't need his help. Honestly we would not recommend this Dr.

I would never recommend Dr. James Chesnutt to someone dealing with post-concussion symptoms. I found him to possess the qualities of a good doctor and a terrible one. Good because he was open to talking about the boundaries of his knowledge and of medicine. Terrible because he was both incurious and certain. While there were other things that bothered me during the appointment (including his eagerness to talk about the immense cost savings of not doing ANY imaging on ANY of his concussed patients), the deadly combination of incuriousness and certainty is a dealbreaker.

I saw him in the concussion clinic today as my dr is out. Dr Chesnutt was argumentative, condescending and rude from start to finish. He argued over a letter for 10 min that I asked for, which have been done there before. He told me I was frustrating and raised his voice multiple times. He never listened to me. At one point he walked out and told me to wait as I had “wasted his time and he had other patients to see” and slammed the door. Absolutely appalling and childish behavior. Not ok.
