Do not like the NP, very rude and dismissive
I have been going to Dr Cook's office for 2 years. I have met him one time and he was very nice and seemed compassionate. Every other time I have only ever seen the nurse practitioner and she is dismissive, rude, she interrupts me, raises her voice, and talks over me. It's like she doesn't even listen or take me seriously. I have gone in for sinus issues, ear issues, a numb toe, and today chronic pain that I think is neurological. She dismisses and downplays everything as though I'm making it up or I'm inconveniencing her by asking her to do her job. I can't breathe out of one of my nostrils for 6 months and my ear hurts, why would I make that up, what would I have to gain? I don't want opiates and I didn't mention them, they don't even work for this type of pain so again why would I make it up? Why would you not believe your patients? I like Dr Cook but I never see Dr Cook. It's like I get harassed and punished every time I go in there. I'm going to find a new Dr.

Thank god I left dr Cook…
Saw dr cook for 6 years. Got tired of seeing the NP instead of the Dr. and changed to another practice. The 1st visit to new doc, he sent me for a CT scan that found stage 2 lung cancer… nobody at dr cooks practice ever even mentioned a ct scan, and if I had not left dr cooks I have no doubt the cancer would not have been found.Thank god I left dr cook.

Dr. Cook overprescribed pain medications to a patient and had to hire a lawyer in order to keep his licence. The concent order is attached below on this site. Because of this, his patients taking xanax, anti-depressants, pain meds and other medications have to come into the office EVERY month and provide a urine sample for testing. This is a major inconvenience. Eventhough I have enjoyed having Dr. Cook as my GP, this is unacceptable and for this reason I cannot recommend Dr. Cook.

Dr has been under audit for prescribing too many pain medications (per his own admission) and requires everyone to undergo drug-screening for ALL medications (i.e., SSRIs.) You will then receive a bill in the mail a year later for a lab test your insurance provider says is medically unnecessary. Avoid at all costs, because if you don't, you will have unexpected costs down the road.

I have been his patient for over 21 yrs. Feel very lucky I moved back to the area in time. Where I am, we had the old school drs. who had offices in a home, etc & it wasn't unheard of to get a housecall. I belong & have belonged to his Concierge Svc since he started it & when I travel & have a problem, I know I can reach him, no matter where I am or where he is. Have lots going on being I'm over 70 now & changing drs. would not work being I have been on my meds most of my life! Dr Cook knows me as a patient, knows my pace, problems, & does care about his patients. I feel very blessed to have a doc I've gone to this long. I am saved visits due to my disabilities & that is a worry I don't have to worry about. Not many around are old school like Dr Cook & I would recommend that if you have him, don't give him up! One-of-a-kind Professional Physician! We need more like him, but what they are throwing in the doctor pot, the majority need to go & not deal with people, much less a patient

Wonderful experience. Being be a part of his HelpMeMD Concierge service has saved me countless hours of travel and wait time. Especially now I have a dedicated line to him and even can video chat for an eye irritation I had. Dr. Cook has the old school bedside manners your accustom to from a small town doctor. So I glad I found him.
