We had a horrible experience with Dr. Hughes. He barely looked at my son who was suffering from Tinitus. Diagnosed him with Meniere's disease and when we asked what it was, he told us to go home and google it. We ended up going to MA Eye and Ear where we received excellent care and a real diagnosis. Dr. Hughes lacks any compassion and bedside manner.

Dr. Hughes was very dismissive of the ear issues I reported (pain, vertigo, itching, fullness and ringing). After telling me I had perfect teeth/no wear on my teeth he suggested TMJ and a dentist. He placed his unwashed fingers in my ear w/o warning so he could feel the ear walls. I motioned fwd so he would remove his fingers. I voiced how unsanitary that was as he had touched surfaces, door handles, patients etc. He smugly stated "ears already have bacteria" no apology. Highly unprofessional.

Dr Hughes gave me a thorough exam and provided a detailed review of results. The audiologist Michelle Fleck also carefully tested my hearing; they are a great team. Thank you for your time, patience, and care. Cordelia

Dr. Hughes was rude, abrupt & arrogant. He was demeaning & acted like I was wasting his time by asking questions about an unexpected hearing loss diagnosis, I only went to him for wax removal! I saw him on Pleasant St in Worc. They did a hearing test...what a joke...the equipment is so ancient, the tech told me to "just ignore the buzzing noise"coming from it! How do you get accurate results with that kind of defective equipment?! What a waste of my time, now I have to go to a real professional!

Dr. Hughes was abrupt, dismissive and totally out of his depth. He is an ENT and couldn’t even tell that I had a raging sinus infection, though I described my symptoms clearly to him. He’s arrogant and haughty. If you really like being treated rudely, and not finding out what’s wrong with you, he’s your man!

Very quick appointment. Checked 2 things, and sent me off. No recommendations no advice as to what to do next. No answers to my questions. In, out...that’s it. Still having the problems so came in with. Staff was very courteous. Nurse more helpful than him. Seeking out a second opinion.

Dr. Hughes was possibly the worst doctor I have ever seen. He was rude, abrupt, dismissive, and completely uncaring. He barely examined me and essentially indicated that my symptoms are due to anxiety, stress, and being "high strung". This appointment was a total waste of my time and money. I should say that the rest of the staff seemed amazing.

bedside manner is horrific. Did not seem interested at all in my concerns or my questions, very agitated and inpatient. It was a total waste of my time. his attitude toward me was as if I was putting him out being there and I really think that this doctor has seen his days and should leave the practice

Extremely concerned about rushed aspect of consultation, plus condescending attitude. Very little exploration of nature of my condition. Did not handle information provided well and had an abrupt manner which was disconcerting in the extreme. No specific recommendations for elaborate needs laid out in multiple test results including MRI and CT scan. Would not recommend him for anyone seeking a compassionate, listening presence.
