Dr. James Kasper, MD

We are an active family and with that comes orthopedic issues from time to time. Dr. Kasper has treated our family several times over with knowledge, care and clarity. He listens and takes his time explaining medical issues, treatment plans and options. He's simply the best!

Dr. Kasper’s medical assistant prepared me for the x-ray and my visit with Dr. Kasper. She helped me feel comfortable and asked relevant questions. Dr. Kasper reviewed the x-ray and MRI results with me and then discussed my treatment options. I was concerned that surgery might be my only option, but Dr. Kasper presented options going forward for my every day life, such as alternative exercise routines to what I was doing that would be less stressful on my hip. He discussed pain management and accommodations for my upcoming trip to Costa Rica. He discussed hip replacement surgery and what is done during that procedure. After all options were presented, he referred me to Dr. Blackburn, his colleague that specializes in hip replacements, in 3 months , for further discussion of hip replacement. I felt I had all the info I needed to decide what to do next. A week later I called his medical assistant to schedule an injection to make me comfortable on my trip. She answered all my questions.

First off, Central Coast Orthopedics is fantastic group of Orthopedic professionals - I've been a customer of theirs over the past 20 years and have had an elbow, a hip, and a knee surgically repaired. Most recently, I consulted with and operated on by Dr. James Casper for a ruptured bicep tendon. Dr. Casper is very experienced surgeon and extremely knowledgeable. I also really appreciate his warm and sincere manner of communicating. He's straight-forward in his diagnosis and seems personally invested in seeing that his surgeries result in a very positive outcome for his patients. I would highly recommend Dr. James Casper (Central Coast Orthopedics) to anyone needing treatment for an elbow or knee.

I recently injured my right knee. During the process of diagnosis I learned that I had torn the meniscus and I was told my knee had significant arthritis. Dr. Kasper is the doctor I selected to seek treatment. During the process of diagnosis and treatment I was also up against a work related timeline. My experience with Dr. Kasper, and indeed his entire medical team from beginning to the here and now was and is outstanding.

I recently had my final appointment after having rotator cuff repair, SLAP, repair, bicep tenodesis and articular cartilage clean up. The entire process from checking in with front desk staff to exercise explanations and prompt filing for disability and great surgical outcomes has made me an extremely satisfied patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Kasper and the whole staff to anyone with an orthopedic condition.

Dr. Kasper is very knowledgeable & knows what he is doing. He’s very thorough on what’s going on with the problem you’re experiencing. I had hip surgery and Kasper & his staff made me feel at ease. All went great & I’ve healed up well back to my normal activities. The staff is super friendly & very helpful, knowledgeable and do their best to accommodate your needs. I highly recommend Dr. Kasper & staff .

Dr. Kasper and PA Gillian are simply outstanding: exam and eval of all relevant info/X-rays and MRI indicated my shoulder malfunction called for the expertise of a colleague with extensive background with my malady. They immediately referred me. Very professional approach

I was very nervous because my primary took his time in referring me and I was suffering terribly with knee pain. I thought I never walk again. But, dr Kasper was patient , took his time explaining the reasons and the cures. He really was a miracle dr! Gentle nearly painless procedure and I can walk! Highly impressed and will recommend to all!Thank you dr. Kasper for being so honest with me and telling me the truth about weight gain and Lee pain! And yes, no more bread!

This was my first visit, but I felt Dr. Kasper was very down to earth and friendly, but at the same time knew exactly what he was talking about. I feel very confident in my choice for an orthopedic surgeon. His staff was also very nice and it’s assistant Gillian was great.

The staff and Doc Kasper were professional and polite (in spite of a rude patient in the waiting room). Dr. Kasper was very helpful, he could have fooled me like some other docs would do and tell me that needed surgery. But he gave me cortisone shot and sent me on my way. The shot was not very painful which was a pleasant surprise. Dr. Kasper explained very well what what was wrong and what to expect. The only complaint is how long it takes to get an appt, but unfortunately that’s how it is with all doctors in my area.

I was referred to Dr Kasper for pain in my right knee. An MRI detected a torn meniscus, but additional x-rays identified the reason for my problem…osteoarthritis! Dr Kasper was very thorough in his assessment and used the images to illustrate my condition. I appreciate his professional approach and will use him again when my condition gets worse.

Staff is very helpful knowledgeable and friendly. Never a long wait time to see Dr Kasper. Highly recommend this practice.

Gillian was very thorough in preparing me to meet with Dr Kasper. She knew more specific X-rays were needed to diagnose my situation, so I was able to get them done right there in the office and they were ready for DrKasper to view. Dr Kasper went over my X-rays and MRI’s with me, and then began a physical assessment of the areas of concern and was able to diagnose and recommend a plan of treatment. Both Gillian and Dr Kasper are very professional, knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend Dr Kasper. I was also able to get in reasonably quick to see him without waiting for months on end!

Gillian asked the appropriate questions to prepare Dr Kasper for his visit with me, she was very friendly and knowledged. Dr Kasper followed up with Gillian's notes and did a very thorough exam. He was friendly, did not rush my appointment and answered all my questions. Being a surgeon he did not push or suggest surgery for my injury but instead had me go to Physical Therapy which was helpful. I highly recommend Dr Kasper and Gillian.
