The likelihood of recommending Dr Kunec or his practice is zero, and the only way to describe my experience is poor! Long story short, I was scheduled to have total hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Kunec and his "expert" response for using Posterior entry was "I'm old school" short for not experienced and/or trained to perform a technically more challenging Anterior procedure. In addition, rude and unprofessional front office person Marilyn was not only disrespectful and ended a phone conversation with me with "Whatever" and abruptly hung-up, but provided false/dishonest feedback during conversation. Suffice to say I identified a Five Star rated Orthopedic Specialist and will never set foot in Dr. Kunecs office again. Not to mention the office informing me two days prior to surgery there were issues involving my platelet count. Worse experience ever.

The front office staff was very friendly. I scheduled my appt on Monday and provided my insurance. When I came in on Friday I was informed my visit was not covered and it would be $100. While not a deal breaker, I do feel if you know ahead of time it won't be covered, you should inform the patient. I was provided a prescription that I went and filled. While looking over the drug interactions and warnings, it clearly says, if you are allergic to asprin, DO NOT take this medication. I am allergic

I went to see Dr. Kunec for a bunion. He supposedly perfomed a simple bunionectomy, but after recovery, my condition remained unchanged. When I expressed my concern, he suggested a toe brace. I obtained a second opinion from a well respected podiatrist who believes an osteotomy, which includes a realignment of the toe, would have been more appropriate. I was not informed by Dr. Kunec about that procedure. Dr. Kunec is a very nice man, but should probably not try to treat bunions.
