Same thing happened to me. It’s crazy so many reviews that are so similar to my experience. They don’t file your ins, they want you to pay upfront before your ins is filed. But they tell you they have already filed the ins and that is the balance left to pay.. The office is very rude even one of the girls in the back admitted that people would always say the girls in the front are rude. The responses to the bad reviews tells it all.

I think Dr. Lawhon is likely the best dentist i have ever seen. Completely thorough on my first visit and the procedure was over before I even knew what was going on. Completely paid free. Shot pinched a little but this dentist was very good. He was in my network also so that saved me about 20% right from the get go! excellent experience.

This doctor is completely unethical. He charged me for services that were not necessary, and were literally no different than the other one. I paid him $250.00 for a consultation plus x-ray, and then he charged me $ 450.00 for a so called CT Scan , which was taken on the same x-ray machine. He also charged my insurance company for services, and was over paid. I have requested my money back. They agreed to do so, but they have not done so in over two months. He has received a total of $700. 00 dollars from me, and has not even done a thing to address any of my teeth problems. His whole staff is completely rude, and unprofessional. They constantly kept rescheduling my appointments, talked to me any kind of way, and expected a woman that works to just come on in whenever they feel like I should. The office manager also tried to get more money from me by telling me that I had to pay for another consultation since it had been over six months since I got the first one.

Just a Dr. that’s not good, that’s all!

I came in to the office with a lot of pain due to a wisdom tooth which needed to be extracted. After my consultation with Dr Lawhon he was able to extract the tooth the same day the entire staff at the office was a pleasure to deal with. Finally,I called his office on a Tuesday an I had the procedure the next day. One another Dr office told me the earliest would be August 1 another 3 weeks. Crazy. Dr lawhon is a rock star in my book.

I would recommend Dr.Lawhon office to anyone that is needed oral surgery or dental extraction done. Dr.Lawhon did a wonderful job on my surgery and I was very comfortable no pain at all. Insurance is a pain dealing with just on the customer said and they did a great job getting in touch with my insurance and explained to me all the in and out for my surgery cost based off my insurance policy. I will definitely use this office again if i need to have any more dental work done.

Staff needs work with professionalism and organization. Appt was moved up 3 times and staff didn't even know when the actual appt was for. Staff was adamant about being here at 12:30 at 12:51 still haven't been acknowledged by anyone. Would not recommend this office to anyone, and havent even seen the doctor during this visit yet, his staff caused this review.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO TO DR.Lawhon OFFICE. THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM!!!! JAN 30/2023 I had a consultation which I paid $162. My procedure for my extraction was scheduled for 2/20 which as time got closer my appointment was cancelled and rescheduled to the first week of March. FIRST RED FLAG (me not thinking being understanding that things do happen.) A day before my surgery in March I get a phone call saying we’re going to have to reschedule you because Dr.Lawhon granddaughter had to be rushed to the EMD. ( me being understanding again) but I was frustrated because I already had arrangements for everything and they canceled on me last minute and stated that they would contact me when they knew more and have open availability I said ok. Weeks pass NO PHONE CALL NO NOTHING. I contact them and advise them on how my appointment was canceled and that nobody ever reached back out to me to reschedule my appointment she then apologizes and gets me scheduled which then at this time

Dr Lawhon was very thorough and gave me clear options of how to handle my problem. We he fixed my gum area it was almost painless. He was very compassionate to me about my being scared of the dentist Z would highly recommend.

He is very good. Knows what he is doing and he really made me and my kids feel relaxed. He's straight forward, honest and gives it to you straight. I don't believe any of these bad reviews because he's just a nice guy and talks to you like a regular person. I get it my insurance is horrible too but that is not his fault. Well use him again if need be.

Honest. Very thorough. Didn’t hurt me one bit….accept for the shot but the shot hurts no matter what

Most impressed with everything about this office - the surgeon, the front office and follow up care. I had an issue and this group was remarkably efficient and clearly had expertise in the delivery of service, as well as discharge follow along. Hands down, I recommend them and I look forward to continuing care.

This dr was rude and disrespectful! He gave his personal opinions about how awful my teeth were and refused meds! He could care less about patients and all about $! If you want to leave the dr feeling worse about yourself than you did before than you should by all means go to him! He will leave you with zero pride zero meds and lots of tears! If you complain they will make you feel even worse! I wouldn’t let him work in my pet! He needs a job not working with people!!!!

My daughter has panic attacks. She is 17 years old. She went into the room and she was upset because she was scared. As he was pulling her wisdom teeth she was crying and panicked. He yelled at her and was throwing his instruments on the table. She apologized and he told her that sorry wasnt good enough. He yelled at the nurse and told her she needed to get on her A game. He told her since she had a piercing in her lip she should be able to do this. So much more. No way to treat anyone.

Helped me with my insurance when no other oral surgeon would. Thanks so much.

If you have insurance be warned. Office staff is useless. Took 3 months to get my refund and had problems the whole time. They lost insurance payments said they never received them when my company said they cashed them. My sister having same problem. I am convinced they are purposely keeping insurance payments. You pay up front and then have to be reimbursed. If I had not stayed on top of the situation I would never have received my money. They also lied to me multiple times.

Dr. Lawhon’s office is the rudest office I have ever been to. The office manager should not even be working with the public and to avoid a painful surgery go to ANY other doctor.

Insurance girl is the bomb

It's not easy for me to go to the dentist. I am scared to death. Dr. Lawhon calm my nerves almost as soon as he walked into the room. He had me and my husband laughing to where I forgot about being scared. He explained everything and made me feel comfortable with getting my tooth cut out. When I walked into his office I saw all these people there. We'll I found out why all those folks were waiting to see him....it was worth it. Thanks to him for being down to earth and doing a good job.

I have blue Cross Blue Shield and after calling every oral surgeon from florence to myrtle beach he is the only one in my network. My daughter was scared to death. Dr. Lawhon explained everything to her and made a few jokes and made her feel so relaxed so she loved the guy. When I spoke with the insurance clerk I had no idea how complicated oral surgery insurance is that's why no one is in network. But stephanie did a great job in telling me what to expect. Surgery went great. Thanks again.
