Disingenuous and Carekess
Convinced me risks associated with LASIK were remote and not serious. He performed my LASIK poorly resulting in blinding me completely.

Better Than 20/20
Dr. Lewis just performed my LASIK surgery using a brand new femtosecond laser. The results are unreal! I can see everything. The entire experience was calming, supportive, and professional. I was blown away by the technology. I also want to give a shout out to Pat (Dr. McManamon).

Worse and most bizarre medical experience ever! Waited 2.5 hours, then politely mentioned the long wait to Dr. Lewis. His response? “You don’t belong here. Get out.” He wouldn’t inform me about his diagnosis or talk to me. I told him I was just trying to provide helpful feedback. I asked him to at least give me his diagnosis. He refused and said he would no longer talk to me and left the exam room. I was stunned by the doctor’s thin skin and arrogance. So uncaring and unprofessional! Avoid this rude, I’ll tempered “doctor” like the plague.

I am so grateful to Dr Marcus Devlin (Spring House Eye Associates) for recommending that I visit Dr James Lewis in Elkins Park. Due to cataracts, my eye sight was gradually declining every year. On my first visit Dr Lewis and Dr McManamon clearly and thoroughly explained the corrective options available for my condition. After researching the options I decided that I wanted to see as good possible. Dr Lewis personally helped me acquire the Symfony intraocular lenses that are now implanted in my eyes. The result was, no more glasses and amazing overall eye sight improvement. While it is a serious personnel commitment to go through the entire process, in the end, it was a life changing experience. It has made a significant improvement in my quality of life. Anyone considering cataract surgery, why not go with the best - James S. Lewis, MD Highly Recommended.

Wonderful Experiences
Each time I have visited Dr Lewis’s office, I have been treated with the utmost care and compassion. Dr Lewis is an outstanding eye doctor, and the other members of his staff are excellent as well. My exams have been thorough and I am kept well informed as to findings. I truly feel that I am part of the team, not just a patient. The young lady who handles insurance problems is caring and thorough as well.

My experience with Dr Lewis was wonderful. He is a well-qualified surgent that provides the best care with a lot of professionalism and concern. He was able to reconstruct my eyes and alleviate my fear of having eye surgery. His staff is very professional and has a caring attitude as well. My eyes have been repaired with perfection and Dr Lewis was able to do so in spite of my apprehension and fear of surgery.

Dr. Lewis and his team were thorough in evaluating and mapping my eyes for the PanOptix lenses to replace my cataract clouded lenses. They checked the size, shape and prescription, and re-checked, and re-checked again to ensure that the new lenses would be the correct ones to be implanted. At surgery time, Dr. Lewis was very reassuring by saying the words "we're going to take good care of you". The surgery time was quick, only about 10-15 minutes and everything Dr. Lewis said would happen, did happen. My new implanted lenses gave me clear, sharp vision at far distances, mid-range distances and close distances. After wearing glasses and contact lenses for 50 years, I did not need them anymore - because Dr. Lewis not only cleared up my cataracts, but also gave me 20/20 vision with these newly implanted lenses. Dr. Lewis is a conscientious, competent, caring and re-assuring ophthalmic surgeon. He changed my life.

Truly exceptional service by everyone I encountered. I had my LASIK in May 2020 and had 20/20 vision immediately after the surgery. Recovery was quick, and not to sound cliche, but I should have done it years ago! Price is straightforward and very reasonable. Staff was courteous, knowledgeable and answered my many questions patiently. Offices are well equipped and staffed properly. I will most definitely recommend to all my family and friends.

Dr, Lewis did my cataract surgeries with Panoptic lenses. I am extremely happy with the results and am now glasses-free after 64 years. My impression immediately before and during the surgery is one of his complete competence. I would strongly recommend him to others who need this surgery.

I am 27, and have had terrible vision since I was about 9 years old. A friend of mine - a dentist - recommended I see Dr. Lewis. What I found was the BEST DEAL not only financially, but in terms of the AFTERCARE and TRUST IN THE TEAM. Forget these other companies like Lasik Institute or other groups who use bait-and-switch tactics to make you feel like you're getting a "limited time offer". I remember sitting down with those other groups and having a salesperson say "This is my best offer". Excuse me? This is my ocular health we are talking about! Lewis Lasik skips the financial drama, they have a very affordable flat rate. I am VERY PROUD to be able to say that I went from needing glasses to do virtually anything, to a cool 20/15 eyesight. I have a new appreciation for life and the inherent details to the world around me - without the fog or faint smear that never wiped off my old glasses. I am recommending my friends to go there, because being able to see is such a blessing.

Mt experience with cataract surgery by Dr. Lewis was excellent. The practice is well managed and efficient. Waiting times in the office for examinations are short. Everything was made quite clear to me by Dr. Lewis regarding what to expect. Mu case was difficult due to previous Radial Keratotomy surgery and astigmatism in both eyes. The surgery was very efficient and also totally effective and exceeded my expectations. I can see at distances without glasses and also read without glasses. Grade A++
