Patients Input Not Considered
I had to leave a urine specimen for him to look at. The nurse I had been placed with in January was out of the office. Even though I was in horrible left flank pain, and the test showed white blood cells, he decided I could suffer all weekend to 'see what it grows out'. I have had kidney issues my entire 63 years. I have never had a doctor wait on a culture to grow out before at least starting basic urinary antibiotics. Two days later, they're saying the test must have been 'contaminated'. Who makes a patient wait an entire weekend and then teel them there is not an infection at all? So what were the WBC's there for? Their purpose is to fight infection. They are not a normal finding in urine!?!?!?!?!?When I gave them the urine specimen, I walked back and forth for almost 40 minutes waiting on someone to tell me something. I finally went and asked. Turns out I was not supposed to have waited at all. I was supposed to go home and wait for a phone call.
