Dr. Janet Lee, MD

We consider Dr. Lee to be one of the finest doctors we have ever met. Kind, thoughtful, professional, and knowledgeable, she takes the time to listen and research before she acts; that sometimes causes back-ups in the waiting room, but it's well worth it. She is confident in her decisions, and proves it with excellent results. The fact that she is managing people's pain is amazing in itself. A life-changing physician. A great addition to the Maui Medical community.

Firstly, her receptionist is rude and unwelcoming. I felt dismissed from the first phone call. Fast forward to the appointment- I shouldn’t have to feel the contempt you feel for a referring doctor. Focus on the patient and not your feelings towards another doctor. I felt like she instantly didn’t like me just from the doctor that referred me. The sarcastic comments did not make me feel heard nor my concerns addressed. The eye rolls from the receptionist during the appointment were also unnecessary. There were dishes in the room sink (unprofessional, isn’t that a hospital sink?) and they basically ended the appointment by both turning their backs on me and not saying goodbye, a thank you or asking if I had anymore questions. A smile and some grace could go a long way when you are a patient concerned about your health. The only recommendation I’m taking from that appointment is seek a second opinion.

I was referred to Dr. Lee after 4 1/2 years of debilitating lower back pain. I can say that today I am pain-free. Dr. Lee was able to explain different options and eventually gave me the spinal injections that saved me. I was extremely nervous about the procedure and her patient and compassionate bedside manner is amazing. The staff in the office are top notch and friendly. I have never had to wait for a scheduled appointment.

Dr. Lee, you and your staff are on top of your game. I am so grateful that your medical experience helped solve a painful issue that I was living with on a day-to-day basis for the past 2+ years, your exceptional attention to detail and time management allowed for faster than normal resolve including when it comes to working with insurance companies and approvals for a variety of orders. You have given me back everything that my pain took away from me. I am baffled that a handful of previous doctors on Maui and Oahu couldn't see what you saw. I am writing this in hopes that someone reading this reaches out to you and your staff, especially if a person has lost all hope, and has their back against the wall living in pain every waking moment. Wonderful, compassionate doctor. Very competent and thorough in explaining procedure to patient. Would highly recommend her to anyone!!! After first treatment I left her office feeling substantially reduced pain. Would rate her six out of five stars!!!!

Sadly my last visit because she’s leaving on the 30th. She has helped me with my chronic back pain and I will miss her.

Each and every visit with Dr. Janet Lee has been awesome. I first came to her being referred by Dr. Andrew Palafox in order to receive a shot on my lower back due to tremendous amount of pain and numbness I was experiencing on my back and numbness on the bottom of my right foot. She, in turn referred me to physical therapy first. Dr. Janet Lee always takes her time with each visit, I never felt rushed during my visits. The medications she prescribed for me worked great and I gradually weaned myself off of them. Dr. Janet Lee has great bedside manners for her patients from what I have experienced. True professionalism, a great doctor. She has made herself available should I feel the need to consult her again. Dr. Janet Lee is an asset to this group of doctors.

I was in a great deal of pain when I was sent to see Dr. lee, her skills and knowledge reduced my pain down to nothing. The staff is professional, friendly and make you feel like your their priority. The facility and visits are set up to move you in and out quickly and safely. Thank You Dr. Lee and staff you gave me my life back!

Dr. Lee listens and also offers drug free techniques to lessen pain. She gives advice on a non inflammatory diet.

Dr. Lee has been treating me for a couple of years and she always listens to my concerns and has helped me with my back issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Lee, she is an excellent doctor and has helped me tremendously.

It's a very large shared office with other many other doctors and the waiting time is terrible, several hours. The staff makes up all kinds of excuses that don't match. One secretary says she is seeing NEW patients and this takes longer and then the other secretary says she is seeing OLD patients who need prescriptions filled. Don't waste your time there, find another doctor.
