Dr. Rucker is one of the most careful and thorough physicians I have met in my 70 years. I fly up from Miami to be treated by her. When I first presented with an atypical condition, she reviewed the literature and was able to diagnose me correctly.

Advicate for yourself
I am sure Dr. Rucker is very well trained and very equipped to do incredible work. Make sure that you advocate for yourself, and what you need. A few years ago I was referred to her for severe eye pain and abnormal pupil responses. I am mild-mannered and while I told her all that was wrong, I did so without any dramatics or demand and fet unheard. She asked some questions and looked briefly at my eye and explained to me that there was no need to do any testing as I was just having an ocular headache. I left thinking I had been dumb to feel that anything was wrong. In the few years following, though the severe pain persisted, in addition to other alarming symptoms, i always felll back on what she had said and did not seek help. Eventually I experienced severe and luckily temporary vision loss and was diagnosed with optic neuritis, and had lesioning found on my brain from an mri signalling ms. She is smart—so persist for the care you deserve and which she can provide if she decides to.

Dr. Rucker was fine but proceeded with little concern for cost. Surprise bills for in-office exams arrived later as well other issues. Dealing with billing at NYU is a tremendous hassle, would not return for that reason alone.
