Dr. Janice Hitzhusen, MD

Dr. Hitzhusen is great! The visit takes as long as it takes -- she takes all the time you need and makes sure you understand. She is very thorough and will work with you to make sure you're satisfied. Great follow-through. Staff is super-nice and very accommodating.

Office staff is rude and unprofessional. The doctor is very unorganized and absent minded. Do not waste your time seeing this doctor:

I have had it with this doctor. I've had her since I was 16, and she's always been pretty absentminded to say the least. She's a nice lady, but her office staff is rude. She refused to write me a doctors note for an emotional support animal (though I am more than qualified for one, I suffer from severe depression). And, apparently I had an outstanding bill from labcorp because she sent out tests during my last physical which I was unaware of any charges. My credit score tanked. Getting a new doc

Very nice Dr. The problem is getting prescriptions filled when she is on vacation. Called several times a day and no one ever picked up the phone or responded to my request. Not a good choice of dr if you desperately need a daily medication.

Staff was under-educated in basic customer service skills. In the 3 years I saw her, her staff changed every few months. She frequently blamed them for scheduling conflicts, and prescription errors. Although she cares for her patients, she is disorganized and doesn't put enough effort into the front end to make the office a satisfactory experience for patients. Ultimately, she and her husband are to blame for bad management of administration.
