Dismissive and condescending
Was incredibly dismissive and condescending to my daughter. She has been suffering for years and he did less than nothing. BELIEVE WOMEN!

The best
I spent a couple years with a Rheumy here in Nashville, the empathy Dr...before switching to Dr Springer and I can tell you that Dr. Jason Springer is the real deal. Unlike some Drs he doesn't give you a diagnosis just to give you one. He answers my messages personally and is sweet, caring and kind. I feel safer in his hands than all doctors I see, and I see a lot. Go to him, or any doctor, a few times before reviewing. Some Drs take a few visits to get your history down and to gather all the tests, etc he needs too diagnosis.

Read his research but avoid his practice
He is not arrogant, and seems very nice, but he should stick with reserach. Initially he did not move quickly even though he said my disease was replapsing. Later He took days to respond when I was in a medical crisis with this life threatening disease. Another time he questioned my symptoms even though I was sitting in another specialists office at the time he called who was confirming everything. He did not order tests that needed to be ordered. He did not do what needed to be done at all in an area he is an expert in. I moved to a different rhuematologist and got the care I needed. Waited an average of 90 minutes after appointment time to see him both times.

I saw Dr Springer at Vanderbilt Rheumatology. I had severe symptoms and bloodwork keeps showing a positive ANA (autoimmune). He seemed very thorough with notes and listened. He took his time during the appointment. This left be initially hopeful. Autoimmune issues are complicated and take can years; I understand that. However, once my specific autoimmune bloodwork came up with no markers, he simply gave up and said goodbye. Literally he said to exercise and take care of myself and if my symptoms change significantly to call him. He even admitted I could possibly have LUPUS, a debilitating and life threatening illness that damages organs, yet instead of rescheduling me for further bloodwork or any kind of recheck he sent me out and said nothing can be done. Some symptoms seem like LUPUS and some don't so he wasn't sure. Very frustrated.

I was diagnosed with SLE over 15 years ago, however, Dr. Springer suddenly doesn’t agree with that diagnosis. I was referred to him due to having something new that is rare. I’m disappointed in his lack of interest in my case. After just two appointments he said he doesn’t know what type of autoimmune episode this is and therefore has no options. Ironically, I see that I’m not the first to have had this same experience. I thought rheumatologists loved solving puzzles. Very disappointing as I had high hopes being at Vandy.

I was hopeful going to Dr Springer because I had heard good things about his autoimmune knowledge and treatment. Very disappointed. He did not know what 2 tests I’ve had were. He had not reviewed any records I sent and didn’t have any idea of my problems. He begrudgingly told me he could run some tests but if they come up negative there is nothing he can do for me. What? Whatever happened to we will keep looking until we find the problem? He acted like he thought I was just a whiner and I am not! I was basically kicked to the curb with no return appt. Won’t go back anyway.

I've been to Dr.Springer 4 or 5 times. Each time was a first with zero recollection of who I was or what I wanted. Each time he talked about my bracelet. Staff is rude.
