Very Positive Experience, I Highly Recommend Him
The office environment is welcoming and Dr. Steindler is easy going and very approachable. I have been in treatment for moderate depression using esketamine for about 8 months. After about 6 weeks I began to notice significant improvements in my mood and today I can honestly say that this treatment protocol has freed me from depression. My depression symptoms were fairly typical; loss of interest in activities, inability to experience pleasure, heavy feeling of dread, waking up with anxiety very early every morning, and significant social discomfort in even the least threatening situations.I was worried about the possibility of addiction going into treatment with esketamine, however I have had no feelings of addiction whatsoever. I am currently in the process of weaning off from SSRI antidepressants and am very hopeful that I will no longer need them. I would recommend this treatment to anyone suffering from depression. I have had no side effects and costs me $25 copay per visit.

Dr Steindler was wonderful. He was very thorough in our consult, didn’t rush through it, asked me many questions, & explained everything about the dual stellate ganglion block procedure thoroughly. The procedure went very well. It was fairly quick, & not painful. I would enthusiastically recommend Dr Steindler to anyone seeking relief from ME/CFS, Long Covid, PTSD, Depression, or anxiety. He’s a Doctor of Osteopathy, and an anesthesiologist, who also works at Albany Medical Center, separate from his practice at Libertas. He has an excellent reputation, & I see why. I also wanted to add that his rates are much more reasonable than most (as the SGB isn’t covered by insurance). I

My very favorable experience
I found Dr. Steindler open to my feedback and persistent in following progressively aggressive steps to reduce my lower back pain and pinched nerve pains affecting my leg and foot. We had a very collaborative relationship. I recommend him highly for those experiencing no relief from steroid injections. He expressed his appreciation for my complying with his recommendations which finished with two rounds of treatment with a peripheral nerve stimulator.

I saw Dr Steindler back when he was at St Marys in Amsterdam. I found him to be a caring confident sharing doc who seemed vested in getting me healthy. Every appointment he took his time and explained options and we were continuing treatment until unfortunately he left. Doc is a good man, I wish he was still here. He's still the only doc that I will allow to inject my back and neck.

Condescending and dismissive
This doctor spoke down to me in a condescending and pedantic manner. He spoke over me and did not listen to my responses to his questions. He said I was “lucky” he had the time to go over my MRI results with me. I would most definitely not choose to receive care from this man, who presented as unprofessional, uncaring, and dismissive.

Dr. Steindler is one of the best doctors I have ever met. He is much different then any other doctor I have had, but there is something about him that brought a sense of comfort to me. I was referred to him for pain management after I was diagnosed with a bilateral fracture in my lower back. I saw Dr. Steindler a few times about what options I had for dealing with pain in my back/legs. Every appointment I had with him, he spent at least an hour sitting with my wife and I explaining in detail, what was going on with my body and injury. He is direct, honest and truthful. I eventually opted to get injections in my back to deal with pain and the procedure was much easier than I had originally imagined. And I am a nervous, anxious person in general, and I would not let any other doctor stick a needle in my spine except for Dr. Steindler...that’s how much trust and faith I have in him and his approach to help heel my body.

I have been seeing Dr. Steindler for just over a year. I find him to be very caring and compassionate. He does not sugar coat anything and is to the point. He has done well by me and I have given his name and phone number to others who are seeking some resolution to their pain. Dr. Steindler has returned my calls himself and is very apologetic when he's running a little late.

I have been a patient of Dr. Steindler for 3+ years for a complex injury of the peripheral nerve. He has been more than understanding. This is a doctor that thinks about how to help you even when you aren’t at an appointment. He goes above and beyond his call of duty as a doctor.

A complete idiot when it comes to crippling pain. I asked him to refer me to someone who specialized in my conditions, he keeps saying he knows of no one. He is lazy and doesn't feel like doing his job. He is not what I would call a compassionate doctor in anyway shape or form. He needs more education or something

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Steindler for treatment of back and leg pain. He not only helped to reduce the constant pain and burning running from my back down my leg, allowing me to get much needed sleep, but also is compassionate and understanding about the problems of those suffering from on-going pain. He is willing to listen to his patient and actually does pay attention and addresses the patient's concerns. I have the utmost faith in him as a physician and recommend him without reservation.
