Dr. Tarpley is a rockstar
Dr. Tarpley was instrumental in saving my mother's life (and preserving her current quality of life) during a recent stroke that she suffered. He is highly capable, highly skilled, and has a warm and professional bedside manner. He has our utmost confidence and my family will be forever grateful that he was there to intervene when my mother's life depended on it.

My mother, Jean, 93 years of age, was rushed to LCM for a stroke. Dr. Tarpley saved her life! My mother cannot remember too much of what what transpired at the hospital ... but she remembers Dr. Tarpley. Before taking her in to surgery, he called me and went over her condition thoroughly and told me that surgery was needed to take out the clot. He explained why she had another stroke, Arial Fibrillation, which was never addressed. His voice and mannerism and professionalism calmed me greatly. I put her life in his hands because I had full trust in this doctor. Immediately following the surgery, all her symptoms resolved. A week after her stroke, Dr Tarpley had FaceTimed her and it brought such a smile to her face! She believes that only Dr. Tarpley saved her life. She will have another visit with her in 30 days and she’s looking forward to it. Thank you, Dr. Tarpley, for saving my mother’s life and getting to the cause of her strokes. You are more than a 5 star surgeon.

I had an IR Angiogram Cervicocerebral Carotid done by Dr. Tarpley. He was very thorough in his pre-op. I think it is important to mention that all the staff preforming my test knew Dr. Tarpley and had great things to say about his abilities. He consulted other surgeons not just my primary doctor to make sure I was getting what was best for me. He explained all of my options in words I could understand and explained the procedure to me step by step. During my procedure Dr. Tarpley was not just professional but passionate. He had high expectations of the other care givers in the room. It was clear to me that I was more than just a patient, I was family, someone who mattered as much to him as his own flesh and blood. Post-op was the same. Dr. Tarpley came by frequently to explain everything that happened and everything that was going to happen. I am 59 years old and showed no outward signs of distress. Thanks to Dr. Tarpley I am alive to enjoy my life with my family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dr. Tarpley is the exact surgeon you want to be in your brain if you have to have a procedure up there. I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage (look it up - it’s bad), and he’s taken all the right steps to get my brain back to 100%. I happen to be one of those pain in the butt patients that’s allergic to things no one else has issues with (like aspirin), but Dr. Tarpley took extra steps to be sure my body was properly prepared for procedures and was extra cautious about being in tune with my body and its needs. That’s proof that he treats and studies each case with individualized special care. He’s personable, calm, and explains things in just the right way so that anyone (not just medically trained people) can understand exactly what’s happened and how he’s going to help.

I have been holding off to do stent procedure for my brain aneurysm because I was so worried about the what IF's. I have consulted at UCLA but I felt being rushed to do the procedure. I asked for a second opinion and was referred to Dr. Tarpley. He is such a wonderful doctor as he takes his time explaining the procedure. The ups and downs but more focused on the positive that makes your doubts go away. I have never been more comfortable and thankful that I did the procedure and was successful. Thank you Dr. Tarpley for your time even after hours just to answer my questions. It really means a lot the way you care for your patients even during your busy hours. Thank you for being meticulous. "Life is good" like you said. Thank you.

Dr. Jason saved my sister from an 8" blood clot on her brain. I was scared when he first spoke with me and incredibly he made my nightmare settle down. He came to me after her successful operation and no words can tell you just how spectacular this man is. It's 3 months tomorrow and my sister and I saw him today and again this man all but stopped my sister's anxiety, along with every single question she had. She is so much more relieved with answers. My heart was super full seeing him again. I trusted him with my sister and he did exactly what he said he'd do on that horrible morning. We have love for a man we really do not know....there you have it.

Dr. Tarpley is an expert on the cutting edge of Neuroscience. He assessed my husbands situation and recommended a Carotid Stenting. He explained everything in great detail and was extremely professional and patient. The surgery was a success and Dr. Tarpley’s follow up several times in the hospital was comforting. He went above and beyond by calling us at home and by telling us if we needed him to call him even though he was going on vacation within a few days. Dr. Tarpley is highly recommended.

The first time I met Dr Tarpley at the hospital was when I had an incidental finding of cerebral aneurysm in the ER. He is calm, relax, direct, reassuring and extremely knowledgeable. He knew that I am distressed by my diagnosis and took the necessary steps to address the issue. His whole team is very capable and accommodating. When I finally had the procedure I knew I was in the hands of one of the best in the field of neuro-interventional surgery. I call him a miracle worker and one of the coolest guys we have ever met. I cannot thank him enough for affording me as he says “ a new chapter in my life along with my husband and family.” Once again to Dr Jason Tarpley thank you for the gift of your talent and compassion. I strongly advocate for this great doctor to patients with neurovascular disorder.

Dr. Tarpley is an excellent doctor and specialist. He went out of his way to spend time with me to go over my condition, discuss treatment options and answer my questions. Rarely do you see a doctor that cares for his patients as much as Dr. Tarpley does. He went above and beyond the call of duty. Perhaps, most significantly, when another "top U.S. specialist" recommended that I undertake an intrusive procedure that could have been very dangerous, Dr. Tarpley stood his ground and convinced m

Dr. Jason Tarpley was able to act swiftly (about 45 min of my arrival) and calmly when I was brought it with a stroke. He told me what he would do if I were his family, and that was very comforting. He also was very excited to meet and follow up with me to monitor my progress during my stay and after I was discharged. I highly recommend Dr. Tarpley, he is a very skilled Doctor proven by his performance of dexterously removing the blood clots in my brain, saving my life.

I had a stroke and as horrible as that sounds I had the great good fortune that Dr. Tarpley was working in the hospital that I was taken to. He immediately did a procedure where a catheter was threaded through my groin and up into my brain where he retracted the blood clot. I am 100% recovered and have no deficits. Truly amazing. Dr. Tarpley explained in detail everything he was going to do to my family and myself and his follow up was excellent.

Dr. Tarpley heads the Providence St. John’s Santa Monica Stroke Center, and he's an EXCELLENT physician. He's a brilliant thinker with an open attitude who is clearly highly regarded by colleagues and nurses. I've recovered from a stroke, and my experience was as positive as it could be because I felt strangely relaxed and confident in his knowledge and judgment. If one is in the unenviable position of experiencing a stroke or neurological issue, I hope you'll come under the care of Dr. Tarpley!
