Great job!
Dr. Taylor paid very close attention to my spouse’s needs. Dr Taylor’s care was excellent He was very specific in explaining the procedure as well as discussing the results. The reception desk personnel as well as the nurses are very professional, kind and overwhelmingly great caregivers .Hats off to all especially to the receptionist who kept my spouse focused on conversation instead of his worries.

Dr. Taylor is great!
I’m surprised by the negative reviews. I’ve seen him multiple times, and so has my husband. He answers all questions and discusses options. We both think he’s nice and knowledgable. Zero complaints from either of us about him personally, but getting the appointment person from the GI Lab at St. Lukes to call you back is a chore. He’s switching to another practice, though he’s not allowed to mention where. We’ll have to google to see where he’s going, but hopefully this fixes the scheduling problems.

An excellent problem solver
I was referred to Dr. Taylor by my original GI doctor who does not perform a procedure I needed. I was tremendously pleased by how thorough Dr. Taylor is, and measured in his approach. When one plan does not work out, he is willing to reassess and find a different means to resolve the issue. He and his nurse Michelle have been responsive to both phone calls and messages via the St. Luke's portal. I don't feel as though I am alone in facing my current GI woes. And I am thankful for that.

after first visit, totally unresponsive
He seemed ok during an initial office visit, and scheduled tests. But before those had completed, I reached out to him (through their online messaging system) with some important questions. As of 10 days later, he has never taken time for a written reply. He did try to call me once (left me a short VM to call him). I called him back 60 seconds later, but they said he was 'in a procedure'. Despite multiple attempts to reach him, he would not return my calls. Apparently I'm not important enough, he doesn't seem to have the courtesy to get back to me. I understand physicians are busy, but IMO if you don't have time to at least communicate with your patients, you shouldn't take on so many. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Disrespectful and does not listen
I was assigned Dr. Taylor while in St. Luke’s. Dr. Taylor stood across my room, did not even take the time to examine me before judging some life choices. He clearly made up his made up his mind before getting results.

Office staff is nice. There are plenty of other qualified gastroenterologists in St Louis to choose from that are respectful and helpful, especially if you want to feel better.

Dr. Taylor saved my life
I was referred to Dr Taylor, at SLU, in 2013 from my GI across the river, in Belleville IL, because my pancreatitis issues were more severe than could be handled in that clinic. In the six years I saw him, he always listened, gave great medical care, had a great bedside manner, and during my many hospitalizations, acted as my advocate within the SLU system. He referred me for a total pancreatectomy and auto-islet transplant, a very rare surgery, which had to be done in Minnesota because SLU did not offer that procedure. But he managed my GI healthcare after I was cleared to return home, and again, always with top-notch care. I doubt I would have survived more than a couple years without removing my pancreas, but six years later, I have a new lease on life, and a great respect for good doctors… and Dr Taylor is really among the best I have ever had. 27 hospital admissions, plus at least twice as many ER trips, so I’ve seen them all. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust Dr Taylor with my care.
