Avoid
If I could give negative stars I would. This Dr. brushed off my mom's symptoms for a year of being short of breathe, heavy legs, etc., along with a marker on her echo for pulmonary hypertension. Until July when she was rushed to the ER with pulmonary embolisms and needed a thrombectomy to save her life. Fast forward to today, she had a follow up echo with him and the office said no significant changes, meanwhile the pulmonologist sees the marker for PH and sends her for additional testing to confirm the diagnosis. The kicker, she was in ICU in July and he walked right by her room never coming to check on her or acknowledge she was there. Zero compassion. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. Shame on you Dr. Patel, even if you made a mistake, own up to it, instead of saying, and I quote, 'if I sent every patient whose short of breathe to the hospital everyone would be in the ER.' DO BETTER.

My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Patel for about 7 years. He is very knowledgeable and caring physician. Dr. Patel takes his time and answers questions that we have for him. Dr. Patel was not only referred by our primary care physician but also our daughter who is in health care. . I would highly recommend him.

I have been under Dr. Patel's care for over 15 years, and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Patel is kind, calming and very caring and really knows his area of practice. Going through chemo, I went to the office to have my heart checked to make sure the chemo was not damaging it. I was hospitalized last summer for almost 2 months, not being treated initially for heart issues, but Dr. Patel made a point of doing an angioplasty and found several blockages in my heart. He could not put stents in for a good 6 months after I got released due to surgical wound healing, and managed my heart issues with medication until such time that we could complete surgery. It went great, and I am currently just being monitored. I cannot say enough regarding his professionalism & the care I have received over the years. His staff is very accommodating and will do their best to help. My boyfriend also sees him and has great experiences with him and the practice also

Dr.J. Patel is the best. He is caring, under standing and most of all listens. He started caring for my husband in the ER a few years ago. We liked him so much we wanted him to continue care. He has been their from day one to help get my husband healthy again. I asked if he would take me on as a patient and I couldn't be more happier. Dr. Patel is straight forward, honest and tells you how it is and i like that. Shana is caring, nice. If I have any questions or concerns I know I can go to her and she will put me at ease. Truly the best !!

Dr. Patel was my surgeon to remove 2 blockages from my heart. I was petrified going in but his calm demeanor & a tremendous staff actually made me totally relaxed during the procedure. He explained to me what he was doing during it so that I knew exactly what was happening. The next morning,I called his office for my follow-up for the next week & when I met with him,he again answered all my questions, explained that the surgery was 100% successful. I was extremely lucky to have Dr.Patel be my Dr.

As a healthcare professional I would recommend Dr Patel. Being in the same profession some drs do not explain or take time with you, thinking you already have the knowledge. Dr Patel took the time to explain testing and procedures making sure I fully understood.

I was led to believe that the Cath. procedure I received from Dr. Patel would clear up my heart blockage. If the arteries were severely blocked he would put a stent in. If they were only marginally blocked he would be able to clear them out. The cath. showed they were 30-50% blocked (that I already knew) and he did nothing. He said that they were not severe enough to require a stent and they do not “clear out” the arteries. So I went through this torture for nothing.

Dr. Patel is a little rigid and abrupt but he gets straight to the point, not wasting any of your time. The only complaint I have is about the office staff, particularly the short latin with light skin that works the window at the old bridge office. She is pretty rude, rolls her eyes, and just really seems like she does not want to be there. This made me feel really uncomfortable and she is very uninviting. Almost as though clients are a burden to her. Besides that the office is great!

I really don't like writing negative reviews about anyone but given your health is at stake, I feel it's warranted. While he is polite, he is dismissive and authoritative (has that I am a doctor and know all and your other doctors don't know anything complex) and spends a very, very brief period of time with you. Most of the interaction is with the nurses whom are very nice. I've already retained a new cardiologist.
