Dr. Jay Ryan, DPM

He has been the ONLY podiatrist that has gotten it correct with my feet. I am a nurse and have had orthopedic guys mess up my feet. ALWAYS go to a good podiatrist for your feet - and Dr. Jay Ryan is excellent.

Dr. Ryan performed what should have been a straightforward bunionectomy, but left my foot far worse than before my operation. I used to be an avid hiker and now there are days I can't walk around the block. He not only shortened my 1st metatarsal too much, leaving me with incredibly painful metatarsalgia, he left a piece of bone, which resembled a fishing hook, behind that required a second surgery (by a much better podiatrist). And the worst of it is that two separate surgeons, whose opinions I sought because of my constant pain, said the original correction was poor. My 1st metatarsal is still angled out too much. I will now require two more surgeries. One to correct his sloppy work and a much larger one to either insert a bone graft or undergo distraction osteogenesis to lengthen the bone he cut too short. I honestly believe that a first year resident would have done a better job than Dr. Ryan. It is one of the big regrets of my life that I ever let him operate on my foot.

Dr. Ryan performed surgery on my ankle, to essentially rebuild it. I am walking and running again with no pain. He is super!

I would not recommend Dr Ryan. I had Bunion surgery in 2017 and had to have another surgery in 2019 to correct mistakes made in the original surgery. If you need surgery seek out an orthopedic surgeon and save yourself from potential complications.

My mother had a problem. Dr. Ryan was caring. He fully explained what the problem was and what he was doing. He also explained what she should expect in her recovery.

I would not recommend Dr Ryan to anybody. I trusted him to produce a positive outcome, but instead of correcting my problem, he made it worse than before he operated. It was a straightforward surgery, and I am shocked at what he did. I have been advised not to go into any more detail.

Dr. Ryan took the necessary time to explain a complex surgical procedure that was recommended by another physician. After meeting Dr. Ryan I chose him to perform the surgery and could not have asked for a better outcome.
