Unprofessional and Strange
I had the unfortunate experience of seeing him at Exer Urgent care. He seemed insistent on making me uncomfortable and violating my boundaries. I wore a mask. He was also masked (when everyone was required to be) but would pull his it off of his face , while near me, to clear his throat when he should’ve stepped outside. He would stand to close when the standard was 6 feet (the other docs there would adhere to this). And the worst was when he asked me to take my mask off to look at my tongue. I told him I had an image on my iPad that I took 5 minutes prior in th parking lot. He refused to look at the images (other docs out there were fine with this). So I removed my mask to accommodate this weirdo. Even more weird: after I removed my mask and put it back on. He said, “I need to see inside your mouth again. Remove your mask again.” This second request was just to eff with me all because I asked him to look at photos instead. He was intentionally being an azz. Avoid at all costs.

Professional and thorough.
I saw Dr. Slutsky in the ER at Huntington Hospital. I think he asked the right questions, did the correct tests and overall did a good job trying to get to the root of the problem. He was pleasant and professional throughout. Things at Huntington take a long time but that is not on Dr. Slutsky.

Negligent & laughably self-absorbed
If you have the rotten luck to have this doctor (a relatively less experienced DO) caring for you in the ER, be forewarned: Dr. Slutsky listens poorly, judges far too quickly, jumps to unwarranted assumptions, has a cold and disrespectful bedside manner, and misreports clearly observable signs and symptoms, negatively impacting a patient’s course of care. On top of all that, he’s pompous in his attitude and had no qualms in gossiping about patients within their earshot. I did not feel like I was in good hands under his care and was so relieved when his shift ended and I was then under a wiser doctor’s care who listened, figured out what was going on (Slutsky was mystified) and corrected Slutsky’s chart errors. Maybe time and experience will humble this Dr. Slutsky, but at what cost to patients if he does learn those lessons? If I could safely do so, I would recommend Huntington let him go. Good ER doctors tend to patients before their own egos.

Wonderful Doctor - helped make sure I was cared for in the emergency room - did all the necessary tests needed for my symptoms and made sure I left the emergency room understanding what might have caused my condition. Completely professional in every way.
