I was born with a severe club foot birth defect and had several surgeries before I was 6 years old, and more later. I’ve had pain in my foot all my life. My wife saw Dr. Jay and was so impressed by him that she wanted me to see if he could do anything for me. I did, and because bones were taken out of my foot and my Achilles’ tendon were clipped during my early surgeries, there was no way to “fix” my foot, but he fitted me for a brace which has improved the quality of my life immeasurably. I have seen specialists all my life, and none helped me like Dr. Jay did in one visit.

Club foot birth defect – Dec 13, 2019

My mom brought me to Dr. Jay after having 2 surgeries on my foot for a growth that kept coming back. First surgery was done by a podiatrist. One year later the second surgery was done by an orthopedic specializing in feet. After 2 years it grew back again and they wanted to cut out more of my foot and use skin grafts from my thigh. It required no weight bearing for 4 weeks minimum, then a boot for possibly 3 months. We went to Dr. Jay for a 2nd opinion. He suggested another course of treatment, removed the growth, and it has not come back. I was running on my high school cross country team less than 4 weeks after surgery. Dr. Jay also explained things to me and made sure I understood, even though I’m young and had lots of questions.

Successful Surgery – Dec 12, 2019

After 3 years being treated by an orthopedic and physical therapist, I still suffered from insertional achilles tendinitis. At my first appointment with Dr. Spector, he treated me and I was running for the first time in three years. I had a series of 5 treatments over 2 weeks and increased my running quickly with no pain. That was 8 months ago, and I am running regularly, playing soccer again, and without any pain. Dr. Spector corrected my condition in 2 weeks, where other medical specialists provided no relief in 3 years.

Insertional Achilles Tendinitis – Dec 12, 2019

I was not given antibiotics at time of surgery, although bone was cut and screws were inserted in the bone. Spector didn't have antibiotics available at surgery center. Three days later...horrible pain and infection. Infectious disease doctor admitted me to hospital for three days. Had IV antibiotics for three weeks!! Worst pain I've EVER experienced! Never heard from this guy after he realized I was in the hospital.
