Dr. Jean Hoyer, MD

Ignore the inflated review scores on the Essentia Health website. I suspect they filter out many of the bad reviews for this provider (and others) as evidenced by the accurate reviews that are elsewhere all over the internet. This "doctor" should not be allowed to practice. She is cruel, condescending, and records blatant lies in your medical records to cover her own errors.

She is one of the best Dr.s I have taken my 2 children to, always takes the time to listen and give advice.

I had an awful experience with Dr Hoyer. I told her I had abdominal pain and sever bloating and could feel a lump in my lower abdomen. With out even taking time to look at it, she told me it was gas pains and told me to take antacids. I got a second opinion and it ended up being a football sized tumor that had to be surgically removed.

Horrible experience!! She was very rude and everything I said regarding my issue she would shake her head which made me feel very uncomfortable I have shingles and she try to tell me they are not painful they do not hurt it’s just a rash When i emailed her the next day to ask what she recommended I do to relive the pain she was very rude and told me she would not fill any narcotic prescriptions. I did not even ask for any medications. I felt more comfortable adressing by email given the day prio

I am extremely satisfied with the care I received from Dr.Hoyer. I had to switch Dr's because my original Dr had retired so I chose Dr. Hoyer. I had a complete physical done and she was outstanding. She went over my entire medical history with me, explained what the test results meant, listened to all of my questions and concerns and never once did she show any sign that she wanted to "hurry up" with me to get to the next patient. I highly recommend her as a primary physician. She is outstanding
