Dr. Jefferson Lyons, MD

I had open heart surgery on 11-17-23. Dr. Lyons was great and the bypass procedure (CABG) went well. I was very happy with the care and results and am recovering nicely at this time.

I Had Open Heart Surgery Aug. 13th 2021. It Was A Scary Surgery For Sure. But Dr. Lyons & The Riverside Hospital Team Are WONDERFUL!! I Give Dr. Lyons- A 10 Star ? Rating Out Of A 5 Star ? Rating!!!!

Dr. Lyons and his staff (nurse Jodi) were top notch. Jodi was very thorough. Dr. Lyons did a great job of helping me understand my condition and surgical options. He diagrammed what he thought was best, actively entertained my questions, and was helpful about second opinions. They have been very responsive to questions I’ve submitted through their patient portal. I really couldn’t be happier with the experience.

Dr Lyons replaced my Aortic valve and I felt he was the best Doctor I could of had for the surgery. His bedside manor and concern was awesome. Can’t say enough about Dr. Lyons and his staff.

Dr. Lyons did an aortic valve replacement procedure on me on March 22,2019. Being 70 yrs old I was somewhat high risk but with the confidence of Dr. Lyons I felt good with proceeding with the operation. I am doing well and would like to say Dr. Lyons is a very caring and skillful surgeon.

First and foremost he saved my life after an emergency aortic aneurysm dissection and continued to monitor my vascular system until a AAA was necessary 7 years later [abdominal aortic aneurysm repair] . Now we are at another crossroads with a not unexpected endoleak which he just thoroughly explained all the options and even some that are only available at the Cleveland Clinic and in Houston !! He spent over an hour with us; answered all our questions and treated us w/ much respect and care !!

Dr Lyons is amazing. He started treating my husband who was near death because St. Ann’s was treating my husband for 2 months trying to prep him for open heart surgery. Drs at St. Ann’s kept saying that my husband is not a candidate for the surgery. Dr Lyons had my husband ready for open heart surgery in 36 hours ( again St. Ann’s tried for 2 months). I’m listing my husbands info as filling this out. Not me.

I was introduced to Dr. Jefferson Lyons in February when I was told that my aorta was tearing away from my heart. I had been transferred to Riverside Methodist Hospital from Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. After Dr. Lyons introduced himself I asked him how good he was at doing this surgery. His answer was "I consider myself pretty damn good". I liked his answer. I would consider Dr. Lyons an exceptional doctor of the highest quality. He is a five- star doctor.

I was very impressed by Dr. Lyons expertise and knowledge and his very patiently explaining the procedures to me as I have migraines and could not concentrate very well. Dr. Lyons and his entire staff were very helpful and I would not hesitate to schedule again.
