Here is a copy of my review of the establishment where Dr. Woo works (which he helped found) and my experience with him as well: Any literature they push seems to have those Christian buzzwords like, “Great Physician, compassionate, Christ-centered healthcare, Christian faith and love, medical ministry, family, spiritual care,” etc. In actually seeking care at CHC, they fell very short of all of these. My review is based on experience with office staff and seeing Dr. Lockstadt and Dr. Woo. While Dr. Lockstadt was overall very unimpressive, my biggest complaint is that she didn’t know where the inguinal area was, thought a significant surgical scar could completely heal in a couple weeks, and kept “correcting” me on my pronunciation of inguinal. I saw Dr. Woo for three separate appointments. The primary descriptor that comes to mind is insensitive. He talks a big talk, but I’m not sure of his ability to actually help. Using terminology patients can understand would be more beneficial than touting perceived intelligence. My appointments were quite close together, and while he remembered some things from one appointment to another, other items he would recall grossly inaccurately (maybe better notes and reviewing those notes before next appointment would be helpful). There were also some discrepancies between what he said in the appointment, what ended up in my medical record notes, and then what he wrote in the portal when I asked for some clarification. I appreciate the time they allocate to each patient, but hopefully they can learn how to make that time more productive/beneficial for all involved. Office staff was overall subpar. Some seemed better than others, but I don’t remember names. They often don’t answer the phone and it takes them a while to get back with you. Having some solid processes and procedures would be beneficial. I scheduled with Dr. Huizen for my child after my terrible experience with Dr. Lockstadt. They canceled on me the day before my appointment and I only saw it because I happened to see a message in my portal. The message said they had called me and left a voicemail. I had no missed calls and no new voicemails. That specific instance describes my overall experience with the office staff. CHC will tell you they are natural leaning. From my experience what that means is that they are not as pushy on means of care if you disagree with them, and they are fine with you not vaccinating. I ended up dropping from CHC because Dr. Woo seemed unkind. If I had confidence that he could actually help me, I may have stuck around and just dealt with his personality, but I wasn’t confident. The other adult doctor at the GR location is Dr. Abel, and he didn’t seem to have any special qualifications (I highly recommend Googling their individual providers-CHC has some good reviews, but a lot of individuals that they employ do not.) I would love to see healthcare options operating outside of the insurance model succeed, but CHC was not good. They say medical care includes mind, body spirit, and while other acquaintances have shared that they were prayed with at the end of their appointments, I did not get that at any of my appointments. Since they themselves really push in their material that they are Christ-centered and providing compassionate care, they should actually make that the patient experience. I did not experience that. If you do still want to try CHC, make sure to use their referral program to save some money (I was unaware when I enrolled). Use the name of someone you know already enrolled at CHC. You get a $40 discount and the registration fee waived and the current member gets a $40 credit on their account.

Dr. Woo is a excellent Dr and a very caring person. He has compassion and is very attentive to your concerns and needs. He is easy to talk to and understand. I have a very rare genetic disease and he is one of the first doctors I interviewed that had knowledge about my condition. I have been extremely happy with his care and his staff. They all display great care and professionalism. He takes time with you and really listens and seems concerned for your overall well-being. So glad he was recommended to me!

I saw him at his new office on the East Beltline at Christan Health Care Centers. He actually listens. I am in healthcare and I KNOW when I am getting platitudes. He is the real deal. Also a great new office. Immediately greeted and cared for and no wait to see him even though I called for an appt only a day prior.

Multiple complaints about continuing issue- misdiagnosed. I was advised because of my age it was a simple problem/fix. Waited too long but finally had 2nd opinion... End result stage 3-c Cancer. Although friendly once he is ready to see you, the wait time for him is always insane and labs not completed in a timely manor. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.
