He replace my hip three weeks ago, and I am very happy to have been assigned such a skilled and careful surgeon.

Highest recommendation for Dr. Jeffrey Ackerman
Dr. Jeffrey Ackerman gave me a new lease on life by surgically replacing my old and tired hip with a brand new titanium one. Moreover, he evened out my legs during surgery which eliminated my back pain that I suffered from for many years! Two weeks after surgery, I put away my walker and started using only the cane. What an achievement and convenience that was! One is so much more mobile with a cane than a walker! Thanks to Dr. Ackerman's incredible precision and abilities as a surgeon, my post operative healing has been quick and painless. He prescribed 2 weeks of in home therapy and 6 weeks of outside therapy which I am now doing. Besides being an excellent orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ackerman is very professional and personable. He devoted as much time during my post operative visit as I needed for all my questions and concerns to be answered. I highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Ackerman for any kind of hip problems.

Excellence
Doctor Ackerman performed a total knee replacement on me. I had an excellent outcome. The entire team at the clinic and at the hospital was very attentive and made me feel good and secure. Doctor Ackerman is very accurate and to the point from diagnosis to advice and consequently the surgery. My recovery was much better than expected. I am very satisfied and I know that I was in the best care possible with Doctor Ackerman and his team.

Second Hip Replacement
I had my left hip replaced by Dr Ackerman in June of 2020. I was back to pain-free "normal" in two weeks. I never needed the cane or walker. I had the right hip replaced in January of 2023, with identical results. He is the best possible choice for this procedure. He's attentive, skilled and result-oriented. I highly recommend Dr. Ackerman and his staff.

A physical and mental relief
I was referred to Dr. Akerman after I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis of the hip. He took on my case and after giving me my options, recommended the best course of action which was a total hip replacement. Although a scary procedure, the doctor and his team in and out of the office made the process go as smoothly as possible, answering any and all of my questions. 6 weeks post-operatively, I am relieved of the constant pain I was in before the surgery and looking forward to regaining my former active lifestyle. Religiously focusing on the physical therapy as part of the healing process will continue my healing. I highly recommend Dr. Ackerman to anyone seeking an orthopedic surgeon who will be the skilled professional all patients need in this stressful time.

Do not book
After waiting more than 30 minutes in the exam room, if I got 10 minutes with the doctor I would be surprised. He has no bedside manner at all and is actually very dismissive. Almost like he could not be bothered that you are there looking for answers as to what is going on with your body. I will not see him again and would suggest if you need a specialist in this field go elsewhere.

Dr Ackerman had done my knee revision since original prosthesis done by another surgeon failed in less then 1 1/2 yrs. What I like & admire about Dr Ackerman is: a) he is like an old fashioned doctor where he himself will respond to your inquiries. He does NOT leave it to a NP or a PA; b) his compassion for his patients; c) his blessed surgical hands.

Dr. Ackerman performed a bilateral hip replacement on me. My surgeries where 11 months apart. My results are nothing short of a miracle. I was always a very fit person and very active; suddenly I could not take a step forward without debilitating pain. I was impressed with Dr. Ackerman every step of the way; from diagnosis, surgery, post-surgery, through recovery I was well cared for. He and his team have restored my life. I give Dr. Ackerman my highest recommendation.

Dr Ackerman replaced both of my hips at the same time in the fall 2019. He was very thorough explaining the process pre surgery to ensure I was prepared for surgery. I had a few complications after surgery that he swiftly addressed. He is very accessible and answers e mails in less than 24 hours which I greatly appreciate. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to see him from my appt time. His assistant, Joy, is a breath of fresh air to communicate with. She is very personable and puts you at ease. I would highly recommend using Dr Ackerman for any orthopedic surgery.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ackerman as he is an excellent diagnostician, has a great bedside manner, and is not quick to push for surgery. He has treated me for 3 years and in that time he has always been very responsive and has provided comprehensive care, outlining all the options available to me. He promptly calls with test/exam results and takes the time to discuss next steps. Joy Aclaro, his assistant, is also very responsive and works diligently to squeeze me in for appointments on short notice. Both go above and beyond for their patients!

Once bone-on-bone was determined, my internist referred me to Dr. Ackerman for consultation. He is professional, patient, generous with his time, answering all my questions and explaining my options. It was clear that cartilage loss is irreversible. I decided to have the anterior right hip replacement as soon as possible. Pre-op instructions were clear. His office staff (esp Joy) helpful. The surgery went smoothly, after which Dr. A checked in that day to explain recovery steps. He even brought me a copy of the post-op x-ray. Pain was minimal. Dutifully I did my physical therapy exercises as directed. Healing was slow, steady, short. Dr. A is a skilled compassionate fine surgeon who has made my life better. So blessed to have had him as my surgeon.

I came to Dr. Ackerman for a second opinion for chronic hip pain after seeing another ortho that brushed off my concerns and didn’t even look at my imaging. Dr. Ackerman listened to me and took all the necessary steps to determine that I not only had a labral tear but a defect in the femoral head that caused the issue in the first place. I am overjoyed that after a year of trying to figure this out, someone took the time to actually treat me like a human and not just another patient they have to get through.

Dr. Ackerman performed a hip resurfacing procedure on me in July 2019, and I could not be happier with the results. It has been six weeks since the procedure, and I am already riding my bike, swimming, walking with a normal gait, and am essentially pain-free. I can't wait to start running in a few months! Dr. Ackerman exhibits a quiet, professional confidence. His explanation of the procedure, and the timeframe for my recovery, was clear and concise. I would recommend Dr. Ackerman without hesitation and am extremely grateful that he performed my surgery.
